Welcome!'

Not too late at all, we're still in the "planning" stage.

Please make a post in the "Off Topic" or "News and announcements" and introduce yourselves. A picture of your XLR is always welcomed! Tell us about your new purchase.

Thanks! I am planning to do as you suggest. I am just not happy with the pictures as yet. It is a 2007 XLR Infrared with Cashmere or Shale interior. I am still not sure which, the code is 31I. It has about 43000km on it and was an american car imported into Canada.

I believe yours is shale interior... my '07 is cashmere and the code is 35I. Cashmere is more of a light tan... shale is an off white.

It certainly is confusing. After purchasing the car, I bought a copy of the 2007 brochure off eBay. The copy I got was the GM Canada version. In it, the interiors are identified as follows: 31 - Cashmere; 19 - Ebony; 35 - Light Cashmere/Burl. Perhaps, the US brochure lists 31 as Shale, which would be correct for my car. I guess GM Canada just wanted to be different.

First of all, sorry to have hijacked this thread... but I misspoke in my earlier post. If you look here:
XLR Net | Model Center | 2007 Cadillac XLR Production it shows 19 - shale,
31 - ebony, and 35 - cashmere. It certainly is interesting that the Canada versions would be so different. So, to make the story even more confusing, according to the above, yours should have Ebony interior...

First of all, thanks for moving this discussion to a more appropriate part of the site.

I had looked at the model center when fist looking at a 2007 car. I actually think, there is a "typo" error in this table. If you look at the table, 74U&19I labelled as Victory Red/Shale, is the entry for the 250 Passion Red Special edition. This edition only had the Ebony interior. So, either this single entry line is incorrect, or all the entries with 19I should be ebony and those with 31I should be Shale.

My XLR also has an RPO code (312) which nearest I can find is described as "Trim Combination Leather Light Cashmere". This came from the GM RPO Master List (forget where that came from) , where 31I is also identified as Light Cashmere.

In any event, I really like the colour combination and the car. I will post pictures to this thread shortly.

Howdy howdy!

Welcome again!

Looking forward to meeting you folks next June on our PA. trip.

Here's a picture from our trip to Biltmore House in Asheville this past April, just to whet your appetite!

Looks like a twin to mine... your interior is DEFINATELY cashmere. Don't understand the difference in trim codes, though... yours is 31, mine is 35. ODD...

Thanks for pointing this out. I'll take a look at the table and make any necessary changes. I'll be adding a lot more info to the Model Center over the next few weeks.
