REPEAT: 2008 Cadillac XLR Conundrum

Thank you for the nice words

Yes the XLR has worked perfectly for me, well 1 issue the left head light goes off after a few minutes when set on "auto-on" if I put it to "manual-on" it works fine. I took it to Cadillac and after a little over $700 they said they did not know what was wrong? So I just leave them on all the time.

The top has gone up and down two to three times everyday now for almost 1 1/2 years now, this is my main driver and other than some new shocks and oil changes it has not needed any repairs.

I would like to thank everyone for the kind words, I do love my car and it makes me very happy every time I look at it. So yes I will continue to drive it like I stole it, enjoy it and keep it in wonderful condition as it is the car I have dreamed of owning.

I will be posting some photos just so people can see it is not a wreck, but a beautiful well maintain example of an XLR with over 90k miles.

Hugs Sara

HI Sara,I agree with all the above and you. sounds like you,re pretty smart to me,you turned a negative into a positive. I plan on driving mine to 300k mi.how much will it be worth then, who care!! I'm still not giving it up!!! people such as you make this forum what it is.:thumbsup:thumbsup AL

So what do I say, it is my XLR in question.
1.) I love the car, it is the color I was looking for and it has been great fun to drive, oh and very reliable too.
2.) I bought it from a dealer (Dayton Dodge) who said it was traded in on a new Viper and provide me with a Car-Fax that looked good
3.) The interior look better than any other used XLR I had looked at.

I now understand that I was screwed, that I will never be able to sell the car for anything close to what I have paid for it ($33,000)

4.) I am now ashamed to even visit this site as I feel I am known as the dumb girl that was taken because see did not do her homework.

What would you do if you were in my place with this car?

I hope you change your mind about posting. You're welcome. I doubt there are few that wouldn't feel the same way. I would just drive and enjoy your car and make sure you can't get into trouble legally. Other than that don't sweat it.

Sara,

You shouldn't feel ashamed. We all make mistakes, and we all get taken from time to time. The important thing is that we learn from situations such as this so we won't make the same mistakes down the road. That's what makes us wiser as we get older. :thumbsup

I hope that you will feel comfortable continuing to post here and based upon the last conversation you and I had - you still really enjoyed driving your XLR. At the end of the day - that's all that really matters. It may not be what it was originally represented to be, but from the pictures you've shared with me - it's a beautiful XLR and you should be proud to own it!
