Resetting Driver Memories

!st of all welcome to the forum. This is what i did. i pressed the buttons on the radio to what i liked. then i took the different fobs and hit the #1 button and then set the radio stations for different for the #2 fob.

Just curious, why would you want to? Set them how you want. If something changes just re-teach for that driver. Maybe I'm missing something.

Sorry, I am talking about the mirror and seat memories for each driver, not the radio settings.

Don't know how to 'clear' them but you can re-set them to what ever you want. (I am assuming it is the same on all years XLR's) You get in the car, start it using FOB 1, leave it in park and set the mirrors and the seats the way you want them to be. Then you press and hold the 'Driver 1' button on the front edge of the seat bottom until it beeps. Now when ever you start the car it will automatically adjust to those settings. FOB 2 can be set up differently or the same. My hubby likes the side mirror set differently as he is a bit taller than me so he uses FOB 2 set up to his preferences.

Just set everything to your liking then push and hold until you here 2 beeps the button on drivers seat LEFT SIDE there will be a 1 & 2 for each FOB & driver!

There is no way that I know of to clear the settings. Maybe if you disconnect the battery? I can't think of a reason to want to clear it either. To reprogram the position: Move the steering wheel, seat, lumbar and mirrors to where you want them then press and hold one of the two numbered buttons for about two seconds until you hear the double beep. The new positions will then be in effect. The same for the exit position.

I think Grand Daddy & I were typing more or less at the same time. Phrede, you likely responded directly to the email. The good thing is the question is answered. I had this same problem when I bought my XLR and as always this forum came to the rescue!

Be aware that if you disconnect the battery for 10 to 20 minutes, it resets ALL the personnel settings, i.e. Radio tones for individual stations, driver's seat, side mirrors AND the NAV system to factory defaults!
The most difficult settings are the radio channels. If you want different tone levels for different channels, they have to be set before saving them! If you don't set them, they'll default to the factory settings and you may get max bass and scare you while driving.

MAX BASS!!!!! The only way to roll, especially top down. Never scares me, nor does it wake me up. It's the way I usually have ALL my cars set up

I didn't realize that you could have different EQ settings for different radio stations. I'll have to check it out when my wheels roll again. Which may be this weekend!!!!

MAX BASS!!!!! The only way to roll, especially top down. Never scares me, nor does it wake me up. It's the way I usually have ALL my cars set up

While cruzin west on the 101 with the windows and top down and the ACC engaged, before the addition of the Corsa Exhaust my Lady friend changed station on the XM radio and the volume was set pretty loud as I was listening to "Elevator Music" and the "Max Bass" seemed to shake the whole car and I turned off the ACC and begin pulling off the freeway thinking there was a mechanical problem with the car. When she turned down the volume, I realized it was the radio's bass that was vibrating the whole car.

I like a lot of bass myself but this was the first convertible I owned that had such a high quality sound system that you felted the bass more than hearing it because of the open cock pit.

At home I have a 7.1 Full Audio Range Surround Sound System with 500 Watts of Sub-woofer in a 15 x 25 foot hard wood floor entertainment room that gives me and my neighbors a really good Full Body Massage while almost blowing out you Ear Drums! (Of course, my daughters and grand-children say that's why I am 'Hard-of-Hearing'! Then again, my deceased wife would say that I "wasn't 'Hard-of-Hearing', I have 'Selective Hearing' and only heard what I wanted to hear".)

I believe it was Steven, Onalaska, that realized you had to set the Tones you liked for the individual stations on your Boise System.

When you mentioned turning the ACC on and off what are you speaking about? I also notice a big volume difference between CD / FM to XM is it normal that XM is not as loud when switching back to and from?
I know what your saying we actually have so much BASS on the home unit that in the summer if the wife is playing like DVD OR CD's and I'm outside doing something I thought there was a thunderstorm in the area later to find out its just BASS traveling the air waves to the outside!

Acc means adaptive cruise control. The reg. radio and cd will be louder than xm radio. I believe it's because of the xm signal.

ACC = Adaptive Cruise Control. Not available in the V series.

There is a feature that is selectable in our stock sound system that will control the volume level as related to the speed you are traveling. I call this "Road Noise Cover-up" as I have found that our XLRs are not as quite as say a 1986 Cadillac Fleetwood De Elegance (SP) which was my previous Caddie.
This feature has to be enabled for the different modes of operation i.e. AM, FM, CD and for us that can play DVDs for the passenger (Grand- children mostly) while driving. REALLY HELPFUL TO KEEP THEM FROM PUSHING BUTTONS AND CHANGING YOUR SETTINGS ON THE NAV SYSTEM WHILE GETTING GAS OR SHORT PIT STOPS!

I just love it mine, when someone slows down very quickly in front of you it slows you down before you even can brake yourself and I like the way it flows on it own with the speed when in slower and faster traffic.

XM also uses the Surround Sound which divides the output power to all the speakers.

I get the same effect on my home system when it's set for surround sound but the program I'm listening to is not being sent in surround sound or something like that.

The ACC was removed from the V series to make room for additional coolers.

The adaptive volume control is a setting on the unit that can be turned on and off at will.

A non-dealer modification is required to be able to play DVD's or change NAV settings while moving. It is documented on some other threads here.
