steering wheel hissing while turning

Has anyone ever noticed their XLR hissing from the steering wheel [like a vacuum leak] when turning. If I am stopped and I start out and turn the steering wheel while accelerating, a vacuum leak type sound comes from around the steering wheel. Any Idea what that is?

On older Cadillacs (60`s) they a vacuume release for the parking brake which was located on the lower part of the steering column. I haven`t had the noise problem that you describe and I haven`t looked up under the dash to see if they still release the parking brake the same way. Just an idea, maybe it won`t be a good one but,what the heck.
