The Xlr developed an oil leak last year. Ignored it for a while but it got worse so I took it to the dealer. They put die in the oil. Told me to drive it for a week and bring it back. Brought it back. They spent almost an hour on it. Told me cam covers, and timing chain cover. Updated cover so it has to be replaced. Have to pull engine to do work. $2800. Don't think so. Drove it for 6 more months but it got worse. Took it to my old corvette mechanic. He had it on the lift for ten minutes. Said it the driver valve cover gasket. What happened to the cam covers and timing chain cover. He seemed sure so I said do it. Replaced valve cover gaskets, and spark plugs. $405. Not a drop since. Just go's to show. Be careful who you trust and get a second opinion. Money can't always buy good work. But a good mechanic is irreplaceable.
