Hey

I bought the tires. just waiting for time to get them mounted. Regarding the TPMS on my X, I do not know the history..... If they have ever been replaced.... If they are OEM or what. Is it possible to just replace the battery in each of the four units? Not having any problems or errors presently. Would they need to be reprogrammed then, if the battery was replaced ?

I just replaced my TPMS sensors. My mechanic ended up getting generic ones because he had a C6 Corvette in recently and had two sets of OEM that the batteries tested bad in the package (from 2 different GM dealers). 2009 was the last year that those were used, it appeared that these were new old stock and been on the shelf for a long time. The batteries are only good for 10 years. The generic were most likely made recently. The Corvette and the XLR share the same TPMS sensors part numbers (the C5 and ‘04 use the same)

OK thanks

Can the battery just be replaced or does the whole thing need to be replaced?
