I've read that if you hold the tc button for 8 sec. that it turns the stability trac off? When you turn the tc off does it just change the shock dampening. I've read about gas mileage differences which it great but the car feels a little different when off. I haven't tried the 8 sec. Holding but it sounded interesting and was wondering operation? Any info would b nice thanks.

If I hit the T/C button twice in succession it switches to performance mode, at least that what the display reads. I am not sure what actually changes but it feels peppier.

Performance mode is only available on the V's. It essentially changes the shift points a bit and alters the handling (through the Magnetic Control) Be careful in the V with the T/C off; there have been some say they have gotten sideways tromping on it!!:D:D

I turned the traction control off on my standard XLR and the car was trying to get sideways. I can only imagine what a V would do!

You go sideways, I'll be passing you by--full throttle with T/c on, going straight as a string:laugh::laugh:

I don't get it isn't that the point.:naughty:

Well I got her out today and the tc doesn't turn off the stability trac. I would say that it does give the car a little more pep or plant the car different to give you a torquer ride. I was able to chirp spin the tires off the line but nothin to rant about. Yes cubby you got me there. But I really didn't mean that to race. I have other toys for that. What part off the south side you from? Maybe see ya cruising some time?

South of the city.....Summer Home of the Bears. With the nice weather we've been having you may run in to me and my wife, we get up there a bit. We could be in the V or out on the Road King--just all depends on our mood that day.:lol:

I stumbled across the "Performance" mode on my XLR-V last night by accident. I looked in the OM today to find out exactly what changes are made to the which systems, but there's no mention of it whatsoever. I haven't had time to test it out, but I'm interested to see if driving it in "Performance" mode represents a real change in vehicle dynamics. If anyone knows exactly what happens when Performance is selected I'd love to know!

Surprisingly, my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel has a "Sport Mode" and it really does change the transmission mapping noticeably.
