Valpo, IN car show

Bruce, That looks like a lot of fun wish we were closer so we could go.

Interesting

I'd love to go, Bruce. I graduated from Valparaiso University... I don't get back there much. We've got plans on Sunday, but I'm going to see about maybe Devin and I going down there on Saturday (its only a couple of hours away from us).

I'll let you know. I hope some others nearby can join us.

Looks like we are going to be able to go. See you guys down in Valpo on the 14th.

Dave

What year did you graduate? I too am a Valpo grad (1983). We are planning on taking the cars over on Sunday for the car show. If several of the MM's are there on Saturday we may run over for a couple hours.

I went to Valpo from fall of '83, to the spring of '86. I graduated with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Theology. I never got into the greek system there, kept my nose to the grindstone most the time I was there. I was in Concert Choir all three years, though.
I can't come down on Sunday, so I'm only going on Saturday. Hopefully we can get some other MM's down there on Sat. and you can drop down for a bit. Would love to meet you and your wife (and see those beautiful black cars of yours). Let me know. :rocker:

I need to plan that for next year. My home town. Born in the front seat of a '55 Merc waiting on a train. Well I wasn't waiting

Went to school a few miles south of where the fairgrounds are now.
That stretch of 49 is the site of my scariest automotive moment ever. Trying to get my Mom's 73 Town car to triple digits it began to wallow so much I about messed my pants. finally had the good sense to lift off the gas :blinzel: Miss those baby blue corduroy seats :pat:

... so Devin & I had to make a side stop at a local Valpo tire shop due to my front left tire losing air fairly quickly. Hope they get it fixed quickly (and not too much $'s). The XLR sure is getting a lot of attention (many mechanics heading over to it to check it out). Hopefully we'll get to meet up with Bruce and Kathy soon, at the show.

Had a great time at the show - tire problem only turned out to be a loose TPMS sensor nut... repaired at no charge. (Thank you Mr Tire). It was great seeing Bruce, Kathy & Jeannie. It was very nice meeting Todd & Karen and Kristie (? spelling :dunno:).

We also had a good time meeting up with everyone yesterday.

We were back in Valpo today with the Vette. Won 3rd place in class.

Sorry there was not a MM winner for the Vette. The first ticket drawn and the winner was present to claim the car. They said last year it took an hour of drawing before a winner was present.

I was able to find a few cool things in the swap meet area to add to my collection of junk.
I found a Ford Truck Owners publication from the fall of '69 introducing the new for '70, Ranger XLT trucks,in perfect condition. I also found a new, still in the box, C4 Corvette dart board and darts from '96.
It was great getting to see everyone again. My boss, his wife and daughter even stopped by on their way home fom Michigan where they had just purchased a beautiful black '95 Corvette coupe. Another great day with friends!
