[05 GRAND DADDY]

HI ALL! I know Sandy (Garytoad) and some others members here made up some www.xlr-net.com forum biz cards to hand out to the new people that are XLR owners you may come across during your daily travels to introduce them to this site forum, I was wondering what all information you may have added to your cards. As I learned yesterday at the Cadillac / LaSalle Club Car Show we attended in Lancaster PA. I meet 3 new XLR owner's there and all had questions about their cars but was not members of this forum. So if you can advise me of your card information that would be very help in designing a card to hand out! Thanks in advance!

The ones I made up I put the pic of my infrared with my email address. It says if you are one of the lucky owners to drive these cars. Then you should check out the Xlr-net site. Or something like that. Here is a pic

Looks good! I am working on a show sign too. I am going to a Corvette show in a month at Wasaga Beach, Ontario and I got permission for the XLR's to come (took some talking) so I want to have something for that. So far there are only 2 going, mine and one other. I would really love to see more........

Sandy I designed them myself on Staples.com they had 20$ deal on the cards (40$ both sides) & the poster! It's to bad you are so far away it would be cool get together and hangout up there for a couple of days!!

Dan - that's fantastic! I've considered doing a car show poster through a similar business, but hadn't figured out how to make it work or have it look good. Thanks for sharing - now I have an idea of how it might look.

I use my poster today for the Cadillac /LaSalle Club Show at AACA Museum in Hershey PA ( which some of the members here toured last year for the PA trip June 2012) Roxy took 1 place again for 1 of 3 plaques!

show sign

Here is the art work for my sign, I am sending it for printing Monday and will get it plaque laminated. I designed it primarily as a general info piece pertaining to XLR's in general then secondly pertaining to mine.

Yes sandy to bad that we don't live closer. It'll be nice to have you and daniel's "roxy" meet up. But we all live about 500 + miles apart. (guessing) I too am looking into making a poster for mine. If not for shows then to display in the garage. But then easily removable so i can take it to shows when i go to them.

I wish there was a way to copy and paste out the sticker price sample on the registry. So at least i could get a sample of what Im trying to put on the poster. . I guess the NCM wants to make money. But at least tit goes to a good cause.

Hey greytoad I like how you did the back pic too. I like how both front and back pics look like the car is trying to come out of the poster. Kind of like 3d effect.

If you can find your information you can try taking a picture with your cell phone I have done this few times, then load it to your computer to crop & edit from there! Like the old saying goes where there a will there a way! LOL!

I like your idea of setting up a display in garage, I would have likely just leaned it against the wall.

I am planning on making a wood folding stand that has magnets stuck in as well as imbedding them in the back of the show board so it will not blow off. (those industrial Neodymium magnets on magnets are stronger than magnets to steel) Using your idea of displaying it, I will also make a small ledge/shelf in the garage then screw in flat head screws flush into the wall so they align up with the magnets of the sign, no need for super strength inside and it will be quick to take down and put back.

Staples had as online sale here too: I got my show poster printed 24 x 36 (It will be trimmed smaller) on heavy glossy photo paper & it looks amazing ...if I do say so myself! (for $15.00). I took it to a Laminating company to be put on a plaque (he does the work for most of the photo stores in the area and I have been dealing with him for years.) it will cost me less than $40.00 but it will not be glossy it is more of a satin finish, less glare and more durable. It should be done Thursday but I will be at the Syracuse Nationals so I wont be able to pick it up until Monday but for under $60.00 bucks I have a gorgeous show card that a local company charges $159.00 for.....gawd, I love a deal!

Anyone else going to the Syracuse Nationals? We will be taking our 65 Malibu wagon.

Well I picked up my show sign and I am totally thrilled with the results. The plaque laminator gave me a real good deal on it too so I am under $60.00 in total cost: saved myself over $100.00 by doing it myself.

I just have to build a display stand that will pack easily in my car, the sign itself is 22" x 32" and will be able to safely fit under my top when it is down.
