I've searched, and searched, and I've come up with a lot of people asking the questions, but no answers....

Car is an 08 XLR-V, with XM.

Bought a new Coastal GM Ipod Lockpick (the "advanced one")

Anyway, plugged it in per the directions, and the XM button disappears off the radio. If I remove the lockpick, it comes back.

I know (or think I know) that it's supposed to be set up as the GM class 2 w/ nav (dip switches 1 and 5 down, all others up), but that one isn't working.

I've tried all the other examples too.

For anyone with a successful lockpick installation, how are your dip switches arranged?

Hopefully I can get this POS to work.

Thanks!

Did you check with them to make sure it would work on an XLR? I have an older unit specifically for the XLR, and recently was told they no longer make them. That could be your problem. Car is in storage right now, so I can't check the dip switches for you. I'd call them and make sure it will work.

I agree with Cubby. If it the one they currently sell it will not work with an XLR. Coastal told me they no long make anything that works in the XLR during a phone call in October. I had problems with mine.

Lockpick

I bought a lockpick for my `06 and it worked fine for a month. Then all it would do was squelch noise thru the speaker and run my battery down. Battery would not hold a charge until I pulled the POS out the system. Lockpick...fudge em`.

Haven't ever had a problem with mine. :dunno:

Does anybody have any pictures of the process of installing the unit?:dunno:
