2007 XLR North Star Complete Reseal

My decision has been made.... Today I will give the shop the go ahead to pull the engine for a complete reseal.

Oil is leaking from who knows for certain from where,.............. I believe this approach is the best way to nip the oil leak(s) in the bud verses let do this that and the other thing first.

Rest assured I researched all could regarding XLR oils leaks and got repair estimates from Caddy Dealership to Private Shop.

So I am going to roll the dice and hope for the best but plan for the worst...
 
Big job. There was a recall on early models, the front timing chest cover leaked, needed a 'special' gasket (read 'thicker'). If it is this, then there is no need to pull the engine, 'just' remove the front suspension and steering rack (to reveal the crankshaft/harmonic balancer bolt).
Otherwise the N* has a good reputation, maybe leaks round the cam angle sensors.
Taking the engine out is the opposite of what you might expect, the body has to be lifted off the chassis.
