How do you change a backup bulb? PLease tell me this isn't going to be a major deal. I'm going to have to spring for a service manual.

A bit of task but not to bad. You need to drop the interior trunk liner by pulling out the black plugs. Just pull the center of the plug, hopefully none break but if they do you can order Aftermarket plugs online cheap. Also you need to pull out the trunk closure button, need to be careful or pull the fuse as you don't want the trunk to close by accidentally pushing the button. When I changed mine I switched all my bulbs over to white LED bulbs! I ordered my LED bulbs online and also that's how you change the license plate bulbs too if interested in adding LED bulbs this would be a good time to change them also! Sorry don't remember bulbs numbers as I did mine a couple of years ago! GOOD LUCK [emoji6]

I popped those plugs (unless I missed some), that cover wouldn't come down. Is that all that's holding the cover?

If I remember correctly when I did mine several months ago, it's easier to do this with the top down, instead of up. It gets the tonneau cover out of the way of the trunk lid

There is some kinda hidden make sure you got them up toward the back corner of the lid. I had mine off a few times other then trunk button that's all I remember!

There are also 2 oblong plugs the cover pins sit in that have to be removed. Watch when you get it loose, there are two wires connecting the radio antenna's. One on each side. You have to pinch to disconnect. Once you get the inner panel off, there are about 10 bolts (10mm if I remember) that hold the rear panel in. One connector for the backup lights.

Never thought about putting the top down. Makes sense. That panel's probably hiding some of those plugs. All this to change a bulb. Another stroke of GM genius. I put a new stereo with nav in the car, figured while I had the panel down I'd hook up a backup camera. The new radio's set up for that. Never trusted those backup sensors. Anyway, gentlemen, thanks a lot. Will save me some screwing around.
