For some reason my Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM) output is driving the power to the Fuel Pump Electric Motor into an "off" or disabled state. Does anyone know if the ECM can command the FPCM to place the Fuel Pump in an "off" state? My budget service manual doesn't cover the Fuel Pump System so I don't have any information on the ECM to FPCM communications or protocol. I'm hoping that the OEM service manual does.
I'd appreciate any technical information regarding the 2 wire interface between the ECM & FPCM. My service manual names these 2 wires FPMP RLY CNTL and FPMP DIAG FEEDBACK SIG. The FPMP RLY CNTL signal is how the ECM commands the FPCM. The FPMP DIA FEEDBACK SIG is some sort of status signal from the FPCM back to the ECM. Both "signals" are displayed in one of the Tech2 screens but it doesn't provide the ability to set the FPMP RLY CNTL signal or read the voltage on the FPMP DIAG FEEDBACK SIG. I wish it did.
Thanks
