Help! Gas tank problem

2005XLR money pit. Filled up. Drove 200 miles. Display said SERVICE FUEL SYSTEM. Minutes later I’m on the shoulder of the road of the NYS Thruway stalk out. Gas gauge went from a little more than half to empty. Any input of how to fix would be appreciated!

It was suggested to let the gas tank go down near empty an then put the Techron in. My car dies with about 7 gallons left in it. Any suggestions

the corvette return line returns to the non feed tank. I am sure the return on the xlr is the same and thus the gas circulates pretty well. I will look the next time I pull one to confirm

Has two gas tanks, DEaler can temp fix. DO NOT let tank go less that halve empty I replaced both pumps because it is a big job to replace. Talk to a Cadillac dealer. Many pumps available

I have a 2005 and it did the exact same thing to me. It’s was only pulling gas from 1 tank. I used a double shot of that Startron gas treatment in the half tank and it fixed the issue. Good luck!
