I don't know how many of you are familiar with the WWII honor flights going on around the country right now, but my Dad has been selected to go on the September 8-9 flight out of Billings, MT. I will be going along as his escort. Originally he had been selected to go on the June 18 flight, but with me just returning from the Aurora Burn Center, he thought it best to postpone his taking the flight.
Honor Flights are to honor WWII veterans by taking them to see the WWII memorial in Washington D.C. It is a whirlwind tour, leaving here Sunday at 5 AM and returning the next day at 8:30 PM. My Dad is 87 and gets around quite well, but gets disoriented at times, hence the reason for me to accompany him on the flight.

Best wishes for a safe and enjoyable trip for both you and your Dad!

Like many of us, my father was a WWII Veteran, served in the Army Air Corps.

He is no longer with us, but in my thoughts daily.

Please tell your Dad how much his service is appreciated. He is a part of "The Greatest Generation"!

I have been In Washington when the Honor Flights have been there. I think you will enjoy the WWII Memorial and they generally take the "Flights" out to the Tomb of the Unknown also. For the past 10 years I have been attending the Shrine Legion of Honor Wreath Laying at the Tomb and I never get tired of visiting it. This last Nov I was honored to be a part of Wreath laying party that got to go out and present the wreath. Hope you get to visit the Tomb on your visit.

yes i agree what a great honor
