I wrote it on the calendar, then got busy in the shop and forgot all about the event. Did anyone go?

Cadillac Tech, Photo Girl, and Photo Mom were all in attendance. They called me while there to rub it in...I had to work today.
Given the photo talent present at the event, I am expecting some great pictures!!!

I was hoping to go, meet up with Bruce, Kathy and Jeanie ... but our church youth had their Car Wash/Car show today - so I couldn't go. Hate being this close and not being able to go. Well, next year, I plan on traveling down to Champaign for the show. Can't wait to see the pictures too. :)

We were there yesterday & had a wonderful time! We picked up a really nice car cover for Schooley's XLR (it sure is fun spending someone else's money). There were some unbelievable Corvettes in The Great Hall, including a '67 Coupe from CO with less than 3,000 miles. It was a beautiful car. The crowd was down this year, but hopefully it do well next year in Champaign.

Bruce was constantly trying to think like Kathy. I became concerned when he came out of the hotel wearing a halter top and a pair of women's tennis shorts.

Must've really amazed Schooley with that top and shorts that he'll let you spend all his $'s. :chuckle

Yes we really had a great time....I was a bit nervous leaving home, I haven't driven that far for a long time, however by the time I stopped for gas and drove to Bruce & Kathy's the music was loud and the anxiety was gone....it felt so good, and the morning was so beautiful for a drive. We packed up and left for Bloomington Gold....when we got to 65 is when I really enjoyed the drive, not much traffic, and still beautiful weather. We came upon a police escort and two huge semi's with what resembled silos laying on the frame of the trailers, that was a real site...still don't know what they were, but made things interesting. I lead our little caravan of two, which I usually follow, so that was different....as we got closer to the toll gates the fun began, I had my zip lock bag of change, carefully filled with quarters, and Kathy gave me 1.00 bills, she said it would be easier than all change, and she was right. It seemed like we paid every few miles...but we got to Bloomington Gold and I honestly had forgotten how beautiful the Corvettes were on that golf course, they took my breath away....I never get tired of looking at them...we browsed through the vendors, and then Bruce and I browsed through the car parts, very interesting, it was a blast....I enjoyed seeing all of the parts, I guess that is what they call parting out a car. As we were finishing all of the parts, we came upon the car covers, they are really nice...met very nice people that were Professional Taylors by trade, and were the brains behind these car covers....Steve Schooley now has a very nice one for his beautiful XLR....

All in all, I had an absolutely wonderful time, got home around 10:30 pm...what a day, Thanks to Bruce & Kathy for letting me tag along....I loved every minute of it....

We took plenty of pictures, but BG is an all Corvette event, no XLRs. Many of the members on this forum want this to be just about Cadillac & or the XLR, so I didn't post any BG pictures.

I would still love to see some of your pictures you took - always love to see yours and Kathy's pictures. :blinzel: Please post (others do not have to look at the pictures if they don't want to see beautiful corvettes).

I would agree...:dunno:

I agree with the others.....let's see some pictures!

I went to the Bloomington Gold event back in 1984, when it was still held in Bloomington.

It was a fun day and I am glad I had the chance to go.

Where is it held now? It used to be at the fairgrounds in Bloomington.

This was the last year for BG @ Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles,IL. Next year it will move back to Champaign, IL.
