Rough Idle

Has anyone experienced a sporadic rough idle. Sounds like popping sound out the exhaust. Come and goes. Seems like a miss but the tach does not move. I put injector cleaner, had the injectors cleaned. Now it seems a little worse. Tried blowing out the carbon but that did not work. Any suggestions?

Try a different brand of gas and make sure it's HIGH TEST, 97 Octaine or better.

I use Chevron w/Tec stuff in it.

And yes, I have had that same problem with only 12,000 miles on my XLR.

I had the same issue - I replaced one of the spark coils and everything's all better!

(I diagnosed it by unplugging each one and listening to the engine. If it ran worse then that coil was fine. No difference = bad coil!)

That would be my guess too ... I've had a coil go bad and that is exactly how the car ran.
