no way to remove the button until the door is open. then you pry the lid apart breaking several of the tabs if they are glued which all I have worked on have been. (some say theirs were not glued). there is a post with a photo of where the tabs are so you can see them and pry close by . you can glue them back together so the lid can be repaired. Then there is a large plastic nut holding on the latch assembly
