XLR-V question: do these have the cloth sheet in trunk behind the seats?

I have an '07 V that has the mechanism exposed behind the front seats. A base XLR at the dealership had a black cloth sheet covering that. It seems like a good idea to keep luggage, etc. off the mechanism/lube/etc. I asked the dealer to order one for my V, but they told me they couldn't find it listed in the service manual & so couldn't order it.

I don't have another V to look at & compare this to. Do you other V owners have this sheet in your trunk, or is it only on the base model (which wouldn't make sense but who knows)?

I have a base infrared 06. I haven't really noticed that though I haven't looked very closely. I have always has the top down. I just got mine 2 months ago back on oct 4th.

Yes I believe all models have the black cloth material. It's there to keep cargo from bumping into or sliding and ripping any wiring or top mechanisms, linkage. I can't help with a part number but its in the repair manuals.

I believe they stopped adding the fabric after the 06 model. My 06 V had it my 08 V doesn't. Guess they decided to save a few bucks. :dunno:

My dealer said the part number doesn't show for the '07 V so I guess he isn't feeding me a line.

Thanks for the info.

That's correct it went away along with the underhood lamp on the 07 model.

try to have your dealer order one for a 04-05?? my 05 has the black cloth.

Floyd is correct, they stopped putting it in after the '06 models. I don't you will even find it listed as a part from any of the dealers or online websites i.e. gmpartsdirect etc.

Cubby you are right. I haven't found part numbers on any site. I guess I will tie off my travel bags so they won't hit the parts up front when I start trail braking for corners!! :chuckle

I guess you don't have this problem because if I remember correctly, Bruce and a few others said they never see your brake lights come on!!! :dunno:

I don't see his brake lights either, but lately, its because he can't catch me for some reason. :reddevil

In case it will help to hear from another owner, like yourself, of a 2007 "V", mine doesn't have the cover either.:(
