Auto wrapping?

I know the forumites have seen a lot of XLRs. Have you ever seen one wrapped for any marketing purposes?

I'm debating on whether to wrap mine with an advertisement for one of my businesses.. I would like to see a picture if anyone has ever done the same..

Have seen cars with full wraps does get your attention. As for your xlr guess it depends on the company, your projected clients? If your advertising doesn't go with the coolness " like redbull maybe" then I think not. Personally I take the dealer stickers off any cars that I own I'm no personal advertisement for them,and would never put stickers on my car"paint". Saw you had light wraps listed on your car. Are there side effects from them, how do you like them? Does it cut out the brightness of the lights and does it peel any? Good luck on your advertising.

I may have worded it wrong. I don't need to know if wrapping works for my business, I just want to see pics of another XLR wrapped.. I would like to see how one looks with wrapping of any kind.

My lights were smoked with a tinted paint, by a shop in my area. I looked into the film or covers and did not like them. I have 10,000K lights, so nothing cuts down on the brightness..

Yea... would be quite the advertisement, but it would cover up what it looks like now. Besides, I have "before" pictures in the car, and everyone can see the "after".

If this is up for discussion .... the whole idea of a 'wrapped' XLR makes me want to . I guess I am glad that I bought mine when we were the darling's of Cadillac and our cars were considered the flagship of GM. It sickens me to think that a decal would be applied to the exterior and detract the eye from the sensuality of this beautiful automobile. JMHO, but I'm pretty sure none of the 'original' owners of the XLR could imagine such a thing. Yes .... things WERE better in the good ol' days.

I bought my first XLR years ago and was a member of this forum then.. (I can't remember my original screen name) XLRs were still for sale at the time. Not sure what constitutes an 'original' owner. My first XLR was only 2 years old with low miles when I bought it and I got for $70,000 less than the sticker price.. I'm not sure how long the 'darling' period lasted....

When it comes to wrapping, it all depends on personal opinions.. The ROI on a good wrap could buy several XLRs..

I used to jack em up and put N50's on em. Don't want to do anything to the xlr (though I think they should have some kind of scoop). I did just cut a hole in my hood

(2011 mustang ha ha) but it looks fantastic with a shaker hood! Maybe that's the great thing about America, I can make my car look stupid and YOU (whoever you may be) can tell me so. But another person will have the right to tell me it looks great.

I personally don't care to belittle another persons tastes. I want to see it wrapped!! Doesn't mean I will like it, I just want to see it. Kinda like that yellow xlr a while back

Hey if your still interested in the " school bus" I saw on cars acouple days ago priced to SELL. " what the he'll was someone thinking". As for the wrap the only one I saw I didn't like it was wrapped around a pole didn't like how it looked. A friend always says some people wipe and other's dunk and wipe. You decide. Save yah on waxing though.

I love the car as I have all my cars.. I've had a couple of XLRs and this one is probably not my last.. That being said, I don't keep anything stock. Personalizing and changing the looks keeps me interested in my cars, otherwise I just move on to another one.. The XLR is not my dream car and I doubt they have made it yet...

I have seen stuff on here over the years that I would never do to mine, but I'm not on here to bash their choices.. To each their own!!

I guess you're refering to my post .... you know, the first people who bought them. Do you remember ever seeing them when they were first brought into the Auto Shows? Or did you ever get a chance to see the Nieman Marcus catalogue when they were first offered for sale as a Limited Edition?? Our cars were unique, special, the most expensive American car ever made at the time .... I just don't think that those people ever expected the car to be covered up in vinyl or used as a billboard... As far as MY opinion .... I still feel that way. Unfortunately, I did not pay $30K for my car .... or fortunately, whichever way anyone cares to look at it. Same with the Escalade - it is a Cadillac ... we treat them like they are. I don't really know why my post seems to be so offensive .... it is just an opinion ... mine. If someone wants to junk up their car, you're all correct ... that's their option. Whatever floats your boat ...
