I have a jammed CD changer. I need to pull the unit and send it off for repair. I have been told United Radio in Syracuse is the East Coast Repair shop for GM. Anyone have any experience with them? While I know the procedure for pulling out the unit - with this car do you just take out the fuses, remove the unit, and are you able to drive the car safely while the repair is taking place. I appreciate any and all tips on this procedure. I am new 2006 XLR owner and new to this forum - this CD problem just occurred. Thanks to all in advance.

I've never driven with the unit out, but I do know that the speed sensor goes through the head unit, so your cruise control may not operate. you also won't hear any music, unless you sing to yourself :laugh:

Good luck with your repair.

Sorry to hear that your CD is jammed. Since we're on the subject, are there and repair shops here in CA or is this a GM specific repair?:dunno: Mine is working fine, but it would be nice to know-just in case.
