2005 Light Platinum XLR
After searching most of this year for the right XLR to purchase I found a 2005 Satin Nickel with 27,800 miles that is flawless and purchased it this past Friday. This forum and its members was a great help on me deciding what to get. I big thank-you for the help. Each time I get behind the wheel brings big smiles :D, I'm glad I did it.

CONGRATS ON YOUR PURCHASE!!!! I know you will enjoy it as much as the rest of us enjoy ours.

Congratulations and here is my #1 tip:

READ the owner's manual cover to cover!

It will really help you figure everything out.

Read it while sitting in the car if possible!

#2 tip :

Check the electronics compartment in the left side of the trunk for water or moisture and make sure the drain is clear.

#3 tip :

If you are going to go for a few weeks between drives, use a battery tender.

ENJOY!

Congratulations on your new XLR.

If I could recommend one improvument to you it would be to add a rear sway/stabilizer bar. I've had my XLR for four months and just added the bar a couple of days ago and it makes a very noticeable difference in the way the car handles.

If your part of the country allows it, drive it at least one a week to keep it lubed up. It wasn't created to sit in a garage.

CONGRATS on purchasing your new baby it's the same year as mine, just about to turn 80k on mine! In the picture it look more like mine Light Platinum color than Satin Nickel!
I must agree about adding the rear sway bar I add mine this summer and handles a lot better! It's a good investment !
ENJOY!

All the manuals were in the car I've been reading all of them to understand how things work, there was even a DVD that I watched that was informative about how things work. Also found several Nav Disks I guess the previous owner order updates. Electronics compartment is dry and everything looks new, drain is clear.

Congratulations on your new XLR.

A Sway Bar sounds like something I would do, where can I purchase one? What is the cost? Does it come with all the hardware to install, brackets, bolt, etc?

It was listed as Satin Nickel on this forum in the Registry ,after comparing some photos I think your right, It might be Light Platinum. The paint code is 994L, I found this sticker under the right rear trunk compartment door.

While on our travels to the 10 year Homecoming at BG Ky. we meet up and traveled with Al & Judy (ald42) the rest of the way down from Huntington W VA his car is Satin Nickel it is a darker shade of silver. Your code is different than mine L P so yours may be correct with Satin Nickel ! You check mine in the registry on here.

I think I figure this paint color out, the paint code 67U is listed Light Platinum, (see link below). That number is on my build sticker, (see picture below) My car color in the Registry (Satin Nickel) must be wrong.:dunno:

I have noticed this with dealers before. I bought mine in March of 2011 so can't remember but I think they had her advertised as Satin Nickel and I thought that's what color it was until Cubby on here said he seen mine at the Gettysburg Trip last June 2012 and said it was not Satin Nickel! Up to that point I did not know what the color looked like until I saw Al's this September. My wife said prefers our color better it is more brilliant and lighter!
