Saw this on one of my Facebook groups and downloaded the Kindle Edition for a whopping $3.99.
It’s a great read and covers a lot of interesting XLR development facts, particularly in V Series form.

I just had a very cool remote start module installed on my 2011 CTS which uses the stock key fob to trigger the ignition by pressing the lock button 3 times.
I wonder if there's any such product that can be as easily integrated into my '06 XLR-V? Anyone?
Just today I noticed that I'm missing a couple of the little black push-pin type fasteners that attach my trunk lid liner. Couldn't find a suitable match at my local pep-boys. Anyone know where I can find these without having to schlep to the dealer?
Good Very Merry Christmas to you all!!
I am blessed to have an amazing wife who actually pays attention to the little things and, low and behold, this materialized in my Christmas Stocking this morning. WooHoo. It's the only switch in my XLR that, while it still functions properly, has lost...
I drove my friend's DTS today and remembered how much I enjoyed the real wood on the upper and lower sections of the steering wheel. Can anyone think of a reason why a Base 2004-07 OEM steering wheel wouldn't fit and function on mt '06 V? I know the wood won't match but that doesn't bother...
So I'm coming home on Tuesday night top-down and it was a bit chilly so I fired-up the HVAC to 75 and within a few seconds I got this message in the DIC: "ENGINE HOT - AC OFF". I also noticed that my temp. gauge was apparently down too.
Got home fine. Opened the hood, other than the...
I've seen a few on eBay but they're all a bit pricy. So if you have one sitting around I may be interested. May be able to pick up if you're in SoCal.

Living in Southern California allows me to drive around topless more often than not. Sometimes I need to park for a while and I really don't want to have to put the top up every single time I do. A car cover takes up a lot of space and too much time and effort for a half-hour coffee run. So...
So, the Black Beauty is back at Parkway Cadillac tonight. After spending 5 days getting a new radiator, hood struts and hydraulic pump for the convertible top I got her home and all was well for a day or two. Then the battery died. I had a replacement Odyssey Extreme 1200 series battery that...
So my ride is in for a ton of warranty work this week and I asked my service writer to replace the tiny inboard and outboard lamps in the passenger side array figuring it might be a $50 fix. Yeah, not so much.
They called today to confirm and told me the cost to replace those bulbs would be...
So I'm getting a sporadic fault in the DIC displaying "Service Traction Control" along with "TC" telltale lamp. I notice it only happens when I'm decelerating from under 50mph to a stop and it's accompanied by a very audible "clunk" between 2nd and 1st.
The fault seems to disappear within 5...
Well, today I got my Corsa Cat-back System and Elite Engineering Tunnel Plate installed on my V. What an amazing difference in Sound! It's got a wonderful, rich basso wail when you nail the gas, but when you're off or just cruising around town it's just got a 1969 GTO Judge Burble! :thumbsup...
Thank you so much Ashli, Stephen and Rebekkah at King Penn Industries for making the best damn looking wind-blocking device for the XLR.
Here are a couple of quick daytime shots. I'll add a few more night shots when I can light it up!
Great work people. :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup
So, while having my WindRestrictor installed today, the tech came across two pieces of weather stripping, each about a foot long. I've look at the top and all of it's various surfaces, edges and angles and I can not figure out where they belong. I suppose it's just left over material from the...
I see there isn't a lot of choice for CAI solutions for the V. I've looked at the VOLANT CAI which I may invest in down the road. But for the time being, will the K&N filters for the 4.6 motor work on the 4.4 as well? I've scoured this forum and I can't seem to see a direct answer to this...
So, I would like to take my newly acquired '06 XLR-V to a dealership for the 50K/5 year recommended maintenance. From reading posts on this forum it's seems important to find a dealership with a Certified XLR Technician in the Service Department.
Does anyone have any experience with or can...
So, my new (to me) '06 V has 40K on it and it appears to have the original brakes on it.
What's my best option to replace them without paying dealer prices? I have a local mechanic who I trust and who will install my parts.
Stoptech? AC Delco? Brembo? Amazon is full of suggestions...
