I got some foam poking out of the crack of my dash. I assume it's not supposed to look like that. Is it safe to violently jam it back down in there? '06 XLR.
You are spot on that it is a dual layer dvd, but pretty much any dvd burner or laptop made in the past five years is going to have one of those.
Here are some posts I made back when I first got the XLR and copied the disc:

I copied mine in my plain laptop dvd drive on a regular dvd+r disc and it works great in my '06 XLR. I stored my original in it's case in my fireproof safe.
Holy moly! I bought my '06 with 40k miles a couple months ago for $26.7k, it was a one owner and looks as good as new. I guess I got a pretty solid deal on it. I'm having a hard time not driving it.
I have emailed them and hopefully they respond soon. If the black straps are the solution then I would be glad to give them a try.
Mine have slots for the straps to go through as well but they could fasten low around the roll bar to very high around the roll bar. I can easily move it all...
Taken it out for a few interstate drives. A+ on wind blocking but not so great on the actual device. The straps "buzz" very loudly at speeds going over around 50mph. I'm going to email the guy and see what he recommends. I assume maybe I need to place them differently or super-man-tighten...
The instructions say to put the dots on the roll bars. Putting them on the glass seems like the better place to me and it seems like they would stick better. Can't wait to take it for a drive tomorrow to see how it does.
Package Arrived!
The Windblox unit arrived today. I threw it on there and I guess it looks ok. It can move up and down if I pull on it. I'll need to take it for a drive to see it moves while driving.
It also came with these 4 small clear rubber dots. It says to stick them on the roll bars...
I've left the top down on the XLR for 4 days now I would say. It's been up when I've parked out and about but overnight in the garage it has stayed down. Is there anything wrong with leaving it down for days at a time or should it be up overnight?
Yeah I'm not in any big rush, he may not have even shipped it yet. The thing I got was automatic from UPS when he generated the shipping label. I ordered the windblox, non-tinted with clear straps. I think the total was $119.
Did you put it towards the front of the car or in behind the rollbars? I've seen pictures both ways.
Would this in the middle on both sides make it classier or uglier? Seems easy to stick one of those on both sides. Any sticker or emblem would do.
I ordered the windblox one today. The kingpenn one obviously looks loads better but is over 3x the price. I paid $109 including shipping and if you don't like it, it says you can get a refund and they pay the shipping back! I'll take some pics whenever it arrives, hopefully this week.

They came with the stock fastener things? They are gone from my mats and one of the mats has some wear on it. Can you put up a shot if yours in the car sometime?
I just got back to Nashville, from Chicago on business today, and it was really nice there. However it was 80 here and I did some top-down-driving as soon as I got in. Now it's raining and she's in the garage with the top still down.
What is the reasoning behind this? I have put mine part way down to lube up the seals and then closed the top back. I did not go all the way down first.
