Wow!

I remember seeing pictures of that when it happened. Like it couldn't of been a couple hundred feet out farther in the lot or something instead of right in the middle of the building!
Did it ever say what the cause of it was right there in that spot?

Can you imagine being the first person to open the building that day?
:jaw:
Cars look great out in front!

A NCM rep told us it set off the alarm & the first person to get there thought there was a fire - the clouds of dust looked like smoke. The exhibit had interesting info about how they found the ones that were completely buried, what position they were in (pointing down, upside down, etc), & what damaged them as between boulders, slabs of concrete, etc. They put some of the boulders out front. They have a tube where you can see down to the bottom of the sinkhole, it’s deep!

The 1st person there was the Museum librarian by the name of Betty. An NCM employee for over 25 years.

Pictures from the Makers Mark Distillery tour Rainy Day but fun time.

I pray all made it home safe. Any information on how to obtain the group photo taken by the museum folks?

Stubby fingers hit wrong buttons - sorry for the “dislike,” it’s not true!

We got the photographer’s business card, it’s Event Photo, gingeric2003@yahoo.com, 270-239-6887

Said goodbyes last night & this morning, always hard because we never know when we’ll have a chance to see everyone again, and it’s really all about the PROPLE. Sure never thought when I got my XLR & started going to these events what great friends we would get out of it. A special group & more than a car club.

We had a lot of fun! Safe travels to all!:wave:

Amy & Mike

Mom and I drove straight through. We thought we would end up staying south of Atlanta but after looking at the gps we decided to go on. We had a back up right near the Macon ga area due to construction. But we ended up with the time difference about 10 hrs on the road. We left the hotel around 7 am. Saw a couple xlr owners cars with trunks open so they must’ve been packing up. Saw the trailer still at the hotel so I figured mom and I beat everyone out.
Thanks again for a great reunion

Home Safe

Cindy and I were on the road by 6:10am (had our alarm set for 6:15 - it went off in the car ).
We had a nice drive home. About 6 1/2 hours. Weather was great, until just coming into Chicago - then the rain the rest of the way home.
We both had an amazing time. Always love seeing the dear old friends and meeting all the new ones. Its a great group of people and I was so thankful that I was well enough to make the journey. I told the dr that I had to go (otherwise the group would talk about me!):lol::lol:
A special thank you to Chad and his lovely wife - for all you two did for our group. You did an outstanding job!

Until the next trip - be safe everyone!

Dave

Wonderful to see you all ......
I missed a great trip .....
Dave Z you look terrific! So sorry I didn’t get to meet your better half 😘

First Visit!

Had a wonderful time at Bowling Green, Kentucky with everyone on Friday. Wish we had been able to get with everyone earlier to go to the Distillary and have Dinner. Nathaniel and I made a lot of new friends and are looking forward to meeting up with all of you again soon. Until then this site will have to do. I hope all made it home safe.
God Bless
Alison

Thanks!

We're sorry that we had to leave early and miss the car show, but we had a great time seeing everyone. Congrats to the winners! As we've said before, it's not just about the cars - it's the people. Thanks to Chad and Rogene for all the hard work putting the event together. Hope we see you all soon.

Just catching up. Posting pictures from National Corvette Museum and Chaney's Dairy Farm. Amazing to see the cars excavated from the hole. They have restored 3 of the 8 cars that fell in the sink hole. 4 are beyond repair and are displayed exactly as they were excavated. No pictures from RC Components, but it was a very cool tour. They have paired up with Street Outlaws TV series. Much CNC machining. Last stop was Chaney's Dairy Farm. Started with ice cream, hay ride to the farm. They run a 60 head Dairy Farm with 2 people. They have a robotic milker that milks the cows 24/7. They say the cows are happier and they just go into the stall when they need milking and the robot ID's each cow by an electronic collar and tracks the amount of milk at each milking , the rate of milking and automatically stops milking when the rate drops off. Amazing that such an investment is feasible, but the owner says he was very apprehensive, but would do it again in a heartbeat.
Chad and Rogene, thanks so much for organizing this get together. You guys did a fantastic job organizing and keeping the group 'on track'.

This Is the robotic milking machine. A laser scans the udder, after it is sanitized, and the Milkers attach automatically. From an Engineer's perspective, a very elegant use of technology.
