Today is day 4 of the Power Tour and my first day in the group.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

4000 plus cars on the tour, all in the infield. There were 4 other XLRs on the tour, met three of them (will take pictures tomorrow in Muskegon, hopefully). There were also a dozen or so CTS-Vs in varying flavors (V1, V2, Wagons, and Coupes). I also chatted with some guys driving classic Cadillacs.

Well one more item is now checked off my bucket list - I got to drive a lap around the Indy 500 oval.

You DID have the video cam running, right? I'd love to see the video of your Indy 500 Motor Speedway lap. Definitely something on MY bucket list as well. :rocker:

Here ya go. It just raw video(can't edit away from home) so there is some wind noise and I was so excited my voice is a few octaves higher. :chuckle

And some of the classics that were there:

Looking at your HUD,,,,,, They must really control how fast you can go. What a bummer!!!

Thanks for sharing the pictures and video. It sounds like you are having a great time.

Today would have been a great day if the rain had quit for more than an hour. Final stop on the power tour:

Metro Beach - Detroit, MI

Unlike yesterday in Muskegon, MI, this place had more than enough parking! Muskegon was a downtown venue so we basically took over the entire town.

I decided today being the last day and since I got there so early, I'd corral all the XLRs for a photoshoot. But, one couple were traveling with a group and wanted to stay with them, so I only got these 4.

Found out the Blue one belongs to Dennis who lives less than 4 miles from my home. Between the four of us we recalled at least 8 different XLRs coming and going along the route. It seems only two did the full trip.

Later on this afternoon, I was stopped by a stranger and asked was I "Gizmo", he said he had been questioned several times in the last 2 stops by people looking for me. After talking for a bit, we found out we are related. He then calls another buddy who attended the stop in Indy that I never was able to find and we closed the park.

Guess what other car traveled the full tour:

But it was in a covered hauler from venue to venue.

Sounds like it was a lot of fun, definately something I would try when I get older. And can afford (And drive, effectively) a really nice car.
