Well, to add another monkey out of the cage: how about some sort of tie into the NAV screen for the back up camera monitor?, can that be done?

That is exactly how the lockpick unit works on my Dodge truck. There is one out that claims it will work on a Corvette, but they swear it will not work on the XLR. The lockpick for my truck works great. The one for my XLR is very crude and clunky.

I tried two different versions of the lockpick, neither worked.

The company GM uses to overhaul the Denso units said a few years ago that if you send in your Nav unit and $450 bucks and they will add a video input connection to the system. Unfortunately, someone did it a year or so ago and after some time they sent him his money and his unit back and said it couldn't be done.

I do know a few hacker friends that could get it done.... but it won't be cheap (probably double the above).
