Welcome to the Cadillac XLR Forums!

Arthritis Auto Show in Dublin, OH

We are registered. I don't know if we are heading over Friday evening after work or early Saturday morning. It would be nice to see some of you there. You can register the day of the show.

It would be nice to see a few XLRs @ the show. They are expecting 1,200 cars of all kinds on Friday & Saturday!

Lots of competition for car shows there this weekend. Goodguys car show in Columbus too but all pre 1972.

Wonderful show!

We had a GREAT time @ the Arthritis Car Show on Saturday, a nice day trip. There were hundreds of beautiful cars of all kinds to look at, but not a single XLR! Hopefully we can get some XLRs into next year's show. I will post the dates for next year's event when they are available.

July 11-12 2014

The show will be July 11-12 in 2014, same location. You guys may want to plan to attend. Mark Thomas said that they would have an XLR judged class if enough of you are interested. Give it some thought.

I could see having my XLR at this event if per my schedule it can be arranged. In addition I am particularly willing to serve as the XLR judge to ensure that no Navy folks might mistakenly win some thing........

Let me know and I will plan accordingly.

Will there be a pink flamingo trophy for the winner?

This is a great show. Lots of different types of cars. There is a hotel right on the grounds where the show is held. Plus, it supports a good cause.

I am definitely interested in the Dublin show, I'll put it on the calendar. Dublin is only a 40 mile drive. Keep me posted on folks that will be going.

It sounds like you would be the right guy to take the lead on this event. :)

Yes, I would be happy to coordinate something. I've been to Dublin a lot, but would have to scope out the location. I would like to know the hotel as well. It sounds like a great cause.

Looks like Bruce is talking about the Crowne Plaza-Dublin. There are several hotels close by as well that are probably less expensive.

I spoke with Mark Thomas & he would love to see a group of XLRs @ the show next year. You could contact them & see if you could work it out.

You could also look into making the car show part of an XLR event.

I think it would make a great XLR event and I can definitely put something together. I assume Mark is the organizer for the show. I see a Michelle Thomas listed on the show website for sponsorships. If you could PM me Mark's contact info, I'll get the ball moving on getting this set up. What is the typical attendance on these events? I saw we had about 30 cars for the Bowling Green Homecoming.

Mark is her dad. I will get you his info. You could work other places of interest into the schedule either before or after the car show. There are some fun places to see in Ohio, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Football Hall of Fame just to name a few. Hopefully the other XLR owners will chime in & let you know if they are interested.

Just reading this post and chiming in on this event! We would be interested on coming to this event! This all depend on the schedule for next year as my wife is out of work :( and if she finds a job if she can get the time off to attend. As far as how many XLR's would come is like any event you really never know :dunno: but one thing is for sure the earlier the event information is available the better! People can book a hotel room now and make plans in advance to attend, so get the ball rolling and keep information posted here. You know what they say you build it and they will come! Sounds like it could be another Homecoming gathering again! WHAT FUN WE HAD! CAN'T WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN! :rocker:
