It must be frustrating to have to put your XLR away for the winter, but I certainly understand the necessity of doing so in the northern climates.

Hi Rod. Alas, I too will be wintering my 05 this weekend. Winter is colder here in Manitoba than it is in Montana, so have no choice but to put her asleep. Since this is the first year I have owned my car, can you give me any tips on what you do to winter your car?
Thanks. Appreciate it.

Not really too much to do... I simply wash it, cover it, plug in the battery maintainer (an absolute MUST) and let it set.
Nice. I too just got mine in oct and have hardly put the top up. It's been to nice of weather even though the scare of dark clouds. But the wind just blows them away.So sorry to hear that all ya'll are going into hibernation for the long winter's nap.I have rarely had the top up since I got mine in May.
Luv it Luv it. We are just coming into high season and this will be my first to run with big boy toys i.e. the Bentleys, Porches, Jaguars, Mercedes and Ferraris. Although I did see a silver XLR ahead of me in traffic but, he got away at the signal so I don't know what year or model. I just got the sway bar installed and am going on a road trip to visit my money in Lost Wages
So, we'll if we notice any difference.

I have a question. I thought that I read somewhere here that leaving the car for a while is not good. I have done it for my Honda crv for 2 1/2 months before but with the xlr I think it's different. I'll be leaving next yr for 75 days and won't be driving itit'll be staying in my garage. Is there anything I should do or get so I can be prepared. So when I return it'll start right up. ie battery saver. Thanks
I'd definitely put it on a battery maintainer. Actually, as I stated above, all I do is wash it, cover it, plug in the battery maintainer (an absolute MUST) and let it set - for 6-7 months - so it should be fine for 75 days.
