Help! Battery Tender

Have had my black 07 XLR for a couple months with no battery issues but have been reading of the issues that arise with a low/dead battery. Mine is not a daily driver so I just purchased Deltran Battery Tender (car is about to sit for a couple weeks). I assume I will connect Red to Red and Black to Black right on the battery? Or should I be clipping the black negative clip to the chassis? Does it matter? Appreciate the help, thanks all!

I attach mine to the positive and negative posts.

In every car I've used the (same model as yours, depicted in the link) Battery Tender with, I always attach the quick-disconnect plug to the battery posts. Never had a problem.
