Great to hear, Sandy!! I've been with this group for quite awhile, so my decision would have been simple---Bobfest. You however, showed that you are willing to delve into the unknown. You will not regret your decision, you will have a great time--if you don't, we will have you 'committed'.

So let me just pre-qualify this by saying we do have a bunch of stuff going on in the family (our son is getting married on Aug 20th, nephew 2 weeks later across the country) as well as an important business deal .........


Today I got a phone call from a promo company for the Royal Bank of Canada, I found out I won a 4 day, all expenses paid vacation to the Barbados.


Yes it was legit, I knew about the contest before, you received one chance for every purchase on your VISA Avion card.
Anyway, the departure dates were September 14th or 15th only.

......Yes I could cancel my hotel for Bobfest, and registration for the show was relatively cheap, so no big loss VS an 'all expence paid trip'! ..... but miss out on taking the XLR on a road trip and meeting all of you? No Way!

So I took one for the team and turned it down so someone else will be in the Barbados while I am at Bobfest, partying with y’all!

I sure hope you all appreciate my 'commitment' to this group and welcome us with open arms

WOW, you Canadians are crazier than I thought.
I think you made the right choice; you'll have a great time. It's worth the drive to IL. just to meet Bob's dog Nick.

OK, we can't stand it, Diane and I decided we are coming too, but instead of driving the XLR we are going to take the jet and fly in. That will make it easier since we are driving to Branson from Houston the following week. Really looking forward to seeing everybody again and meeting some new faces as well.

That is fantastic! What airport are you coming into? KMTO is the local and we have 6501 x 150 ft. + ILS so no problem for nearly any jet. Let me know when and where and we'll get you here.

Thanks Bob, It's an Embraer RJ145, but unfortunately I couldn't convince Continental to fly it any closer than St. Louis so we will rent a car and drive the rest of the way! Just made reservations at the Holiday Inn Express. We should be there Friday between 5 and 6 PM. Sorry for the short notice, we were on the fence for a while because of the Branson trip the following week. Could have just spent a few extra days visiting your part of the country, but it's a three day drive from here and that would really add a lot to the time away from home.

Great to hear!!! It will be nice to see you & Diane again. I guess I better have the beer truck just follow us down to Bobfest--not enough room in the trunk for all we are going to need.

We will also be bringing the SHO again this year, to get all the fireworks down to Bob's.

Bob, are your neighbors leaving town that weekend? We may get you kicked out of the area this year!!

It's all MY fault ... I have such limited time to work with .... We will work our best, but not making MAM committment yet ....

Not singling you girls out RA, but if you do come end up coming to MAM and don't register in time, you will not be able to park with the other XLR's in the designated area. Everyone planning on attending Bobfest should register with the MAM Corvette Funfest (it's only $25.00) to assure a spot with the group!!

Even if you can't go at the same time the rest of us do, you should still come to MAM. Bob is trying to get as many XLR's there as possible. He puts a lot of work in on this and he trys to show them that the XLRs can make a good showing.

I just got a call from MAM. There had been a personnel change and this was a follow up call to be sure that there were no unresolved issues.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS NEXT FRIDAY.

The number of cars registered will determine the space we get. They have given us prime real estate again so please register.
