I saw a XLR last week in a color that I had never seen before. When I asked the driver about it, he said that it was Cobalt Blue and was an 05. The car had aftermarket wheels as well.

When I returned home, I checked the "Model Center" and found that both Xenon Blue and Steel Blue were offered in 05. But this was definitely NOT either of those!

I guess it was an aftermarket paint job as well?

Guess we're having too much fun in Bowling Green... will check my collision repair paint color books when I get home on Tuesday & post back.

Have you seen this: http://gtcarlot.com/colors/Cadillac/XLR/

I've been to a couple of large XLR events and never seen a cobalt blue ... Most owners tend to keep them 'pure' ;)

Thanks for that link, it agrees with what I found after researching the model center data here on xlr-net. It does appear that there were NO cars from the factory that were painted Cobalt Blue. If anyone has info to the contrary, please post.

Concerning your comment about owners keeping them "pure", I assume that you mean "stock". It seems to me that the owners fall into two major groups, the ones that like to personalize their vehicles and the ones that prefer to keep them as they came from the factory.

I'm in the second group. Other than lighting upgrades and the rear sway bar installation, mine is as she came from the factory.

But I also understand those who have personalized their cars as well.
