Lesser Vette Still Whips the Horse. . .

Hhhmmm. Don't think I would be running from it; especially at freeway speeds. I've yet to have anything out-pull me from 60-160+ :reddevil Keep up = yes, not pull away. But then, all of my power adders really begin to shine in the mid-to-top range, since traction is a problem on the low end. Builds torque so fast you have to feather the power to the back end.

Be Careful with that bet. Unless of course your betting on the Z06. Theres no way a Ford will touch it. The one you buy is set up for the track it will be so far ahead of that Ford 0 to 60 and then it will take off like a Jet to 200. At 160 in wont even be out gears.:D:willy_nilly::cool:

Ford stock is over $10/share. :blinzel:
I'm a betting woman.
My wagers are private :cool: :reddevil

There stock is at $10 a share because they moved a major factory to mexico:( and went robotics then laid off a lot of American workers and charged the same amount for there cars as if they were made in America. This seems to be the new fad for large Corporations but even with that there still a Ford and not a Corvette "SORRY".

Fred;)

This should go to a different thread.
I apologize for mentioning the stock.
You assumed something that I did not state.
Let's get back to the subject.

But my checkbook is not sorry. Sorry.:naughty:

It wasnt my intention to make this an issue I was only pointing out why they (Ford) faired better then the other car Ameican Car Companies. It makes no difference to me who has what stock I suppose its a gamble like a casino so you play one game someone else plays another some lose some win. I have nothing againist a Ford my only point is that they dont have any stock cars that can beat the Corvette. Now this coming year they are coming out with I think a bigger engine but dont remember much more about it. In any event it still wont beat a Corvette.:D

Speedway;)

Why blame Ford for being smart enough to realize the only way to avoid going bankrupt was to globalize their business? They are not the first nor the last to take their business off-shore.

Hell, blame GM for allowing their trade unions and suppliers to back them into a corner, then run crying to the government for a handout to save their butts.

And you are right, Ford does not currently have a stock, production car that will out-run the current Covettes, but please consider:

Z06 = 505+/- hp = $70,000+
ZR1 = 630+/- hp = $100,000+

GT500 = 540+/- hp = $45,000

My Gt500 has an after-market exhaust, larger crank pulley, carbon fiber intake, computer with five on-board, switchable tunes and a really sweet, single stage wet nitrous system. All installed by me for less than $4,000.00 since most of the nitrous kit's components came off my Vette.

I make more power than the ZR1 and my engine is a hand-assembled piece of american muscle, built in america by americans, working in the SVT side of the house. The GT500 is not only a quality piece of machinery, they sell every one of them they produce.

If I wanted a Corvette, I would buy another one. Heck, I sold my C6 to get into the GT500. Why? Simple = SVT builds a quality product intended for the backyard mechanic. It is the perfect bedrock for hotrodding.

If you don't like getting greasy, buy a factory sportscar such as the Corvette and hope the kid next door doesn't mind getting greasy. If he does, he will buy a Ford; then with a few thousand dollars and some sweat he will kick your Corvette ass around the block. I know, it happened to me way too often once I switched from SVT products to the Corvette.

Even with a nitrous system the Vette could not keep up with the crowd we run with. One of my friends owns a Z06 and he refuses to run me again - he prefers sitting on the porch..............can't blame him, at least he knows his limitations.

Plus the Mustang seats five!

It sounds like you have one awsome car. However, what we were discussing is there is no stock Ford that will beat a Corvette. I never implied that the Mustang was a bad car in fact I think there kool and they do seat 5 thats why there not a sports car. For everything that you get in a Corvette I challenge you to compare it to another performance factory vehicle that provides the performance, on board equitment, gas mileage and beauty of the Corvette for there price range your getting an awful lot of car for more than a fair price. I dont think you can compare these two cars that are build in a factory however, I gotta say Ford does have one up on GM there cars speak mexican.:D

You must be having one of your days so I will do my best to humor you for its Christmas a time to love and rejoice not a time for bitterness about life and the inability to adapt as one age's.;)

Poor Fred, pity pot, pity pot. I have adapted to my age quite well, I have a most joyous life, I haven't time to sit around and be miserable as my life is full of wonderful friends and famlly and I certainly have nothing to be bitter about. I have earned my fame and fortune. Don't think you know someone until you actually meet them and get to know them. Remember Fred, when you point a finger at someone you have at least three pointing right back at you. :):):) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

This is yet one more example of how you do things. First you attack and try to belittle then when it comes back at you it appears that you go into your earning mode as if no one except you has earned there living. We Ingrid and I are unfortunately not going to Colorado for reasons I already stated but the shame in all of it is that there is no ALTERNATIVE place for those of us that would like to go and just have fun with cars. But that is a thought why cant there be an alternative like Florida. The month of "May" in Florida is fantastic weather is anyone interested?:cool:

Gee Fred, I am so sorry you and Ingrid don't want to come to Colorado. IT IS all about getting together with friends and our wonderful XLR's. I attended RIII in Bowling Green, caravaning with people I had not met before and became friends with. We had a fantastic time and everyone got along as if we had known each other for a long time. That was in May of last year. In November of last year I drove to California to spend Thanksgiving with my grandson who was in the Marines at the time. He followed me the next day to Studio City where we joined other XLR owners and had a blast attending BBBIII and then going to dinner together. Some I already knew and some I met for the first time. The next day we drove up to the Swaim's for dinner, meeting them for the first time and had a wonderful meal, great conversation and enjoyed making more new friends. This year I entertained Cindy and Rod (mtrocket) in my home for a couple of nights and then we caravaned to Corralles meeting up with Blue Bunny and Jamsto, caravaning on to Las Cruses, spending the night and caravaning on with the group from Arizona and Calif. We had a fanastic time going to and being in San Antonio for RIV. So you see, it is all about the cars and making friends, seeing old friends, seeing sights, country sides, in the case of Colorado the mountains and everythings else. I am sorry you don't think you could have a good time in Colorado and I think it is strange you would try to split up a wonderful group of people in trying to get them to go to Florida. I doubt you get any takers. I do hope you will someday get to meet the XLR owners and find out what a wonderful group of people we are on the XLR-net forum. :):):)

Number one no one is trying to split up anyone. This Forum has many many members and they all are not going to Colorado. However, some may want to go to Florida as an alternative. So you have the wrong impression if you think I am trying to break up the group going to Colorado.
