My XLR/V(s)
2009 XLR Elektra Blue Platinum
Hello all! I am new to this site. My first XLR was a 2006 I bought in 2006. In 2009, I traded it in for a 2009 Elextra Blue one. I love these cars. This one really turns a lot of heads. It has the veil package, so has the chrome wheels and it really stands out.

I just learned about this forum. I was always a member at the other XLR Forum. Didn't know there were two sites.

I have been thinking on selling my XLR. I go back and forth. Don't want to, but it just sits most of the time in my garage covered up. I'm afraid to drive it for fear of all the knuckleheads out there!, let alone maybe getting jacked!! I hate to sell it, but it's a shame to leave it sit. As I said, it's a 2009 and I have 7400 miles on it.

Anyway, glad to be on this forum and am looking at all the info here.

Welcome to the forum it's the best xlr site out there. Where are you located in Illinois theirs acouple of us near the city north and south side. What's your asking price on your xlr?

I was not even aware this one was out there. I have been a member of the other XLR forum for a long time. I am located in Edwardsville (just outside of St. Louis). I would like to have $54,000.00 foer the car. But, that price is always negotiable. It has a full $0 deductible GMPP warranty until 07/2018.

Like I mentioned, it only has 7450 miles and is in excellent condition. It is Elektra Blue exterior and interior is Cashmere with Ebony accents. It has the Veil package which includes the 7 split spoke chrome wheels, vehicle cover and windscreen with storage bag.

The car is BEAUTIFUL and turns heads everywhere it goes. I purchased it new and we love it, but we drive it very seldom and it is just a shame to leave such a beautiful car sit. And, I could always use the garage space.

Let me know if you are interested or if you know someone that is. We will see what we can do. Thanks for the reply.

I believe I may have seen this car recently. How often do you get down to Belleville?

Yes, we get down there quite a bit. Of course, not always in the XLR, but we certainly have. I see you are from STL. Do you guys ever get together for a run?

I'm in Fairview Heights and we just had three together at the Cadillac LaSalle show last weekend.

Counting yours, there are 14 of us in the St Louis area, but only 4 or 5 are driven regularly and even less as shown or cruised.

WELCOME TO THE FORUM
You have made a good switch this is the best XLR FORUM? It's a shame your thinking of selling! We bought our in March 2011 with 53K on on her she now has around 77K. She's a 2005 daily driver from South Central PA area!

How much was the weather veil option listed on the sticker?

It was a $4,590 option. Total sticker was $88,120. I see what those stickers are going for at the assembly plant, glad I kept mine!

Yeah, I keep going back and forth on selling it. We really like to take it out, but it sits a lot in the garage. I just hat to leave her sit...... I don't know what to do. Thought about trading her for a new 2014 CTS. They are pretty sharp! Not like the XLR, but still nice.....

Just curious - why would you drive the CTS any more than the XLR? :dunno: Knuckleheads/getting jacked risks are probably about the same. At this point, depending on trim level for the CTS, the values are so close you're risking nearly the same amount of money.

The CTS's have plenty of cool technology (I have a 2013), but the XLR is more comfortable, nicer ride, yet sporty with good handling so I like it better.

If I had the extra $$ & garage space I'd take it off your hands in a heartbeat - & maybe get rid of my CTS!

Amy, you should have opted for the 2014 CTS. For the first time on base models, magnetic ride control is offered; which makes a huge difference. I should have let you and Mike take the CTS-V for ride in Bowling Green. The vehicle is awesome!! Granted it is not an XLR or XLR-V, but is truly a remarkable car. I don't think I'll be giving either on of mine up, except to maybe upgrade to a newer model year!!

I've driven a CTS-V on a track a couple of times, but I'm not really paying attention to ride comfort when I'm doing that!

Don't get me wrong, I like my CTS a lot, just like the XLR better!

So what all come in this $4,590 option ?
Never heard of it! Thx!

Welcome to thethe XLR-net forum Amy.

By the way, how did you find us?

Sorry! - I think the meander into CTS discussion caused confusion - I'm assuming you meant to ask jsc (don't know first name) that, not me (XLRATING/Amy).

But I'm happy to answer if you want me to!
