Welcome to the Cadillac XLR Forums!

Sorry! - I think the meander into CTS discussion caused confusion - I'm assuming you meant to ask jsc (don't know first name) that, not me (XLRATING/Amy).

But I'm happy to answer if you want me to!

No, you are right I meant to ask jsc. Nevertheless, now that we are on the subject, how did you find us?

It was a dark & stormy night, & I was surfing the internet when suddenly I found Ford, Ford, Ford, Ford!!!!

No, wait, that's a different story ...

I did a Google search for info after I got my XLR. This forum had a ton of helpful info compared to anything else I found, plus people were chatting up the NCH 30th Anniversary which sounded like fun & something I wanted to be a part of. So, I landed here.

And I didn't even know I'd have the chance to debate which color is faster!

That's what I like to hear! :rocker:

Oh no! Again more F-Bombs (Ford) being used here. Rules violation! Rules violation! So let the punishment begin.

What a great story (except for the F-Bomb part) and I am glad that you joined.

I came here after being a member of the that other site (we won't name here) and found the people more receptive and accepting, friendlier and possessing just a wealth of knowledge that I could not find anywhere else! :worship:

This site is the best and so are the people! :grouphug:

P.S. The blue XLR's are the fastest ones. I just though I would clear that up. :reddevil

THAT is a fate worse than DEATH!! Although Bieber does have some good taste in cars with his CTS-V . . .

Thanks for the welcome -- I'm glad to be here! Although I have to say when I jokingly told a car guru friend about the which-color-is-faster-debate, he looked at me like I had two heads. :silly: Ended up being one of those "guess you had to be there" things.

Now -- jsc, come back, come back to your thread!

Hello all! I am new to this site. My first XLR was a 2006 I bought in 2006. In 2009, I traded it in for a 2009 Elextra Blue one. I love these cars. This one really turns a lot of heads. It has the veil package, so has the chrome wheels and it really stands out.

I just learned about this forum. I was always a member at the other XLR Forum. Didn't know there were two sites.

I have been thinking on selling my XLR. I go back and forth. Don't want to, but it just sits most of the time in my garage covered up. I'm afraid to drive it for fear of all the knuckleheads out there!, let alone maybe getting jacked!! I hate to sell it, but it's a shame to leave it sit. As I said, it's a 2009 and I have 7400 miles on it.

Anyway, glad to be on this forum and am looking at all the info here.

jsc,

Welcome to the forum! You should enjoy the vehicle while you have it. Don't let it sit :).

A concealed firearm license and a 44 caliber handgun stored in your driver's door compartment will take care of any fear of being jacked.

As for the knuckleheads you have the power, the steering and the braking ability to avoid any knucklehead!

Letting it sit isn't good for it at all. The seals don't get lubed in the engine or transmission/torque converter. Your tires get flat spots, look at floor in your garage. If it's concrete look at where your tires sit. See any dark spots? That's the oils in your tires leaching out. Not good!

I'm rather a newbie here too. Welcome to the site. Take that great car out and enjoy it, that's why you bought it isn't it? :dunno:

It is the weather veil option. It includes special chrome wheels, a wind restrictor, and a car cover. Only option available! I may be mistaken, but I think this was only on the 2009 XLR.

Welcome to thethe XLR-net forum Amy.

By the way, how did you find us?

I was actually on the other XLR forum site and they were discussing something, some event, (don't recall now what), but they mentioned this site. I went to it to see what it was about. Very similar, but lots of information here.

Welcome to a great XLR site with Good People : )

Sell your XLR? --- Heresy. :) --- Maybe they are easier to find in Illinois than here in Colorado. I bought mine in San Diego a few weeks back and drove it home.

As one recent Newbie to another; Welcome!

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you need to get out there and have some fun with that beautiful car.
Keep it and drive it, if something happens - that is what insurance is for! Life is too short to drive boring cars. The CTS is a beautiful car too but how many of those do you see on the road? You would certainly miss your XLR and the feeling of being privelaged in owning something unique as it is. Drive it! If you don't, the next person will drive the wheels off of it and enjoy every minute! :burnout: :burnout::burnout:
