Swapping out OEM CD units

Hi

Just got a factory OEM CD unit for my '06 XLR. Want to remain OEM; Personal choice. I see on the web about the radio, that there is a Theft Lock feature and that you need a code to get around it. Will I be dealing with that in swapping out the CD units ? I'm thinking that the Theft Lock would have to do primarily with the radio and that replacing the CD unit would not affect things. Is this correct? Anybody here know, .......will I need to deal with codes etc. in the swap out of the CD unit?

You might need someone with a TECHII tool to pair it with the car. I was thinking it's just the radio/nav head that needs it though.

Got a CD unit installed

Hey

Update for any interested in doing this swap. Got a replacement OEM CD unit. It DOES NOT interfere with the radio, nor require any coding or programming as the radio unit does when swapping it out. It is a simple swap out and works fine.
