2010 Chicago Auto Show

Supa & I went up to the Chicago Auto Show yesterday. (I usually go every year, as my brother-in-law gets comp'd tickets) You could tell the economy has affected this as well; not nearly the auto manufacturers or displays as years before, but it was still a good show. Here are some pics of what I thought was the highlights of the show; with the exception of the Ford Taurus SHO--you couldn't get near them! There were 4 on display and the crowds around them were unreal!!

The Cadillac XLS Concept--great looking car!

The Audi R8 Coupe and Sypder Convertible (Rear engine V10's)

The Fisker Hybrid Sports Car (Karma covertible concept?)

The New Jaguar XJ

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

That's one thing I have never done is go to an auto show... would love too, it would be soooooo much FUN!!!

Great pictures Cubby, I really like the Cadillac concept and the Fisker. Could you tell what engine was in the Cadillac?

You couldn't get real close to see it. I believe the gentlemen said it was a V6. If I'm in correct Cubby will correct me.

XLS Concept

Being it is there concept car, very little was announced as what exactly it would be. The gentleman talking about it said it could possibly end up being a hybrid 'flagship' vehicle for Cadillac. Someone also asked about the cost; which was speculated somewhere in the neighborhood of 85-90K.

As Supa said, if it does not become a hybrid it will most likely be a V6 it what was stated.

I did miss an opportunity for a picture of one other car while we were there--the new Posche 4 door sedan. That area was crowded as well and couldn't get a good pic so we kept moving through the show.

I liked the look of the XTS concept car. The only thing I didn't like on it was the color of the interior.

I went to it this year and I was so excited because I had been researching it, and I thought I was going to be able to see the Corvette Stingray Concept car. But alas, I later realized that the pic's I had been looking at were from the year before... I still had a great time this year when I went! I loved to look at the Lambo's, but I was dissapointed that the Ferrari Presentation backed out... I like Exotic Cars, but I would totally want either an XLR or a Corvette rather then them...(Just figured I would probably say that because this is a XLR website...)

I think the car show sucked this year in SD. I am not much of a fan of foreign cars, be it Porshe or Lamborghini - cars I could never afford and way out of my league anyway, and I miss the big selection that GM used to put out.
