Does anyone know where I can find a XLR book by John McCormick. I ordered one months ago from XLR Boutique and have not received it yet. By reading other posts I guess I am not likely to, (Amazon will not ship to Canada). I would really like one, any help would be appreciated.

Check with your Cadillac District Manager, your Cadillac Dealer can put you in touch with him. My District Manager obtained one for me for free as they were originally intended to be given out for free. The Cadillac Botique is a total rip off as you can see on older post on the forum. Good luck.

You also might want to keep an eye on eBay. They occasionally show up there.

Another option would be to order one from Amazon and have it shipped to another XLR owner in the U.S. and then they could ship to you.

Great book, I learned SO much about the XLR that I didn't know!

Good luck!

A book worth writing would detail the criminal sales tactics employed by Allen Kulbersh, the embodiment of a used car salesman.

Not sure if everyone knows, but the XLR Boutique now advertises itself as being under "new management", a common trick amongst crooked car dealerships, or any business that routinely rips off its customers.

Beware the man; he eats, sleeps and breathes snake oil.

And the worst of it; he knows less about the car than most of you do, especially considering the fact he calls himself Mr. XLR and had never owned one..............:(

What happened? I would like to know the details but yea to call yourself MR.XLR and never own one is pretty stupid in my opinion lolol

I recommend doing a search on his "business" here rather than take my word for it, but suffice it to say he has ripped off many members here and on other XLR forums. He will tell you he never owned the business, he just helped out a friend who does (did), however the web domain, all of the phone numbers and the address were all traced back to him as their sole owner.

Mytime, If you want me to order for you from Amazon let me know. Do you want the expensive new edition or one of the used. John

Yes, I read that someone (2) finally filed a complaint with the BBB and that no one in the business will answer their request for information .... so the BBB has given him a CCC :D I should have done that.

Buyer Beware.

What that boy really needs is a good ole fashion a$$ whipping. Then you can turn him over to the BBB. :bash:

XLR Boutique

Thanks for all your input. :)
Put in the order with the Boutique, confirmation was given but never shipped (it has been over 2 months now) and they never returned emails for an order update either. Not sure how the process works but it would be nice if someone would shut him down. I am trying to get the charged reversed through the CC company and PayPal. I would sure hope in the end ! What comes around goes around. :bash:

I found that website and had it saved under my favorites with the intention of ordering something one day. Thank goodness for these posts!

The saddest part is the other XLR forum still continues to show suppport for Allen, telling its members the new owner is trying to clear up the backlog of problems - but in reality there is no new owner, they will never clear up the backlog of problems and Allen will continue to do the only thing he knows how to do = be a used car salesman.

The 2 complaints that were filed with the BBB got settled - you may have to go that route. It is stated that the company will not respond to the BBB's inquiry's, but settled the complaint. They were given a C Rating. I'm not going to drag up 2 year old history, but it took about 7 months, and a lot of very public exposure on a different forum for me to get results from this company (?) ..... Doesn't seem like what goes around comes around, this clown company just seems to keep fleecing people. Under New Management ..... I wouldn't bet on it. :bash:

I always wondered how that 'company' got a hold of so many copies of the XLR book until we visited the factory and was given free books, and told that every new owner received one as a gift from their dealer .... this guy is (or used to be) a salesman for a dealer...... you can come to whatever conclusion you want.

I will bet you dimes to donuts he could get you a copy of an Allante book too, since before the little thief took up the Mr. XLR title he was known as Mr. Allante.

XLR Boutique Reply

The next day after I contacted the Visa Resolution Department I received this humorous response from the XLR Boutique. Interesting account # and excuses, thought you might be interested in reading it.

Subject: Badry order#11111 TheNew Cadillac XLR Gift Boutique (on Vacation)

Mr. Badry,
We are out of the office and have been closed for the last two weeks on vacation since 6/20. we had a vacation message that was set to go out for all incoming emails. Most of the ordered items are in stock and available to ship and but due to additional shipping costs, we usually hold the order until all items are in. Many automotive mfg's shut their plants down in the summer months for vacation purposes, this is the reason the items have taken longer than expected.

Our offices are still closed but we are doing our inventory updates and wanted to respond to you. The stock items in your order will be shipped out and the balance of the items will be shipped when they arrive.

Thank you
Jeff

What a train wreck operation. :smileyshot22:

If I remember right, ONE of the excuses he gave me was that his mfgr's closed during the winter holidays ...

Nothing NEW about that company .... he's still up to his OLD tricks :rocket:
