I received this from Rich today. I thought you guys might like to know how his sister is doing.

Life update: my sister is back at the Cleveland Clinic and is undergoing surgery this afternoon to try to clean out some of her infections. She has contracted an unusual bacteria nicknamed Iraqibacter since many soldiers contract it. She's in very critical condition -almost too critical for surgery, but she surely wouldn't survive without it.
I'll keep you updated.... Or at least I'll try to.

Rich

Thanks Bruce for posting ...

Rich .... you know that you've given all of us inspiration when we needed it ... please now take what little we have to offer you .... our spirit's are with you ... Thinking of you, and loving you.... xxoo Ray & Ruth Ann

We also received an update from Rich and send our thoughts and prayers to him and his family. He's keeping a lot of balls in the air, helping with his sister, taking care of his parents and still being overworked and underpaid. May your Christmas season be filled with nothing but joy, Rich!! We are thinking of you and wish nothing but the best!!

Know that Cindy and I are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers... and that we are also wishing you the best.

Hang in there, Rich! We miss your fun-loving personality both on our drives and on this forum ... Our prayers are with you and your family.
Keep the faith pal! I hope your sister gets through the surgery ok and gets back to recovering!

Please Say a Prayer

Please keep our friend Rich (Homegameroom) and his family in your thoughts and prayers over this holiday season. Rich's sister, Sue passed last night after giving a valiant fight. He will be in prayers this Christmas as we remember our family and friends. God Bless us all!!

You and your family are in our thoughts and Prayers, Rich. God Bless!

So very sorry to hear of your lost. God Bless you and your family. You will be in our Prayers and thoughts.

Our deepest sympathies to you, Rich. May the thoughts and prayers of friends help to comfort you in this time of need.

Thank you all for the good wishes, thoughts, sympathy, and prayers. It's been a long 13 weeks for my family.

My parents and I got back from New York (where my sister was from) on the 31st. There was a wake on the 30th and the funeral was on the 31st. It wa a very difficult experience for all of us, and it was made a little worse by the fact that my sister was only 20 days away from finalizing her tortuously long and involved divorce from her abusive husband. Of course he and his family were in full attendance.

My parents have been with me since my sister came to Cleveland in mid-October. They're certainly ready to get back home (to South Carolina)and to leave the cold weather up here. The only good thing that came out of this is that my parents and I have had a chance to reconnect. We haven't spent this much time with each other in about 30 years. We all enjoyed that part of our experience and are closer than ever.

Some of you had expressed interest in sending flowers or donations. Well, I haven't been good about communicating what was going on (as per usual). We request no flowers, but rather would prefer donations to Laura's Home, which is a local place for mentally and physically battered women to escape to and recover. The website is http://www.thecitymission.org/honors--memorials Donations can be made in my sisters honor (Sue Nagle - she gave up the married name). If you really enjoy filling out forms, any acknowledgement may be sent to me at 11795 Friar post, North Royalton, OH 44133.

Thank you all again - you're the best!!

Rich, it is good to hear from you, you have been missed. Thanks for the update on your sister. I'm sure it has been a long 13 weeks for you and your family. I'm so sorry to hear about your sister, she put up a real fight. I'm sure she was happy to have you there in her corner. Stay strong and we'll see you next weekend.
