Welcome to the Cadillac XLR Forums!

Spring Drive '12, May 19

Looks like PJ and I will have to back out as well. FAMILY! We're needed close to home for the next few days. Sorry guys, we will miss our XLR friends. This just makes me more determined to try to make it to the Hershey trip.

Have fun guys! See ya in Detroit, hopefully.

Whit is going to meet the group @ the hotel in the morning to caravan to Gilmore.:)

Sorry you can't make it, Giz. Try to catch up in Detroit if I can clear schedule.

Lawn's mowed, we're packed, loading tunes and we're on our way see everyone in Michigan tonight!

Saturday Night Dinner

I called and made reservations for the group at The Blackhawk Bar & Grille for Saturday @ 6:00-6:30 PM

It also looks like they have live entertainment that night as well. Should be a great time!!

Sorry to see some of our friends are dropping out--We will miss you. :ugh::ugh:

Devin & I checked in.

We're here in Kalamazoo now... just waiting for others to show up. Nice drive from Chitown, construction not too bad in Chicago. :rocker:

Can't wait to see everyone.

We will be leaving tonight after work...hope to be on the road by 6:00 pm. Looking forward to seeing you all. Drive safely!

Devin and I arrived at home about 11pm local time - easy drive home back to Chicago from Michigan.

Another wonderful XLR trip with great friends. I don't think I ever imagined the joy of owning an XLR and the incredible friendships that have come with it. It was great seeing the "gang" (we missed Jeanie, Gizmo, Quinn, Chrissy and Marc though); it really was great seeing Ruth Ann make the trek to the Midwest too.

Weather was PERFECT and it was a wonderful location for a car show. We'll have to do this again next year.

Everyone in MI, have a safe trip home. :rocker:

Can't wait to see the pictures everybody took. Of course there will be tons of them, and I'm sure they're all amazing! :)

Wonderful weekend!

We had a GREAT time with our XLR friends this weekend! Gilmore was a lot of fun and there were beautiful cars everywhere you looked. The XLRs & Cubby's CTS-V drew onlookers all day long. The drive up to Gun Lake was a blast! Supa did a great job driving Cubby's XLR-V.:rocker: Then the group met up with Lola's Mom & LinSue for dinner...even more fun. Thanks Cubby for taking care of the bill.:worship: It was sad saying our good-byes after breakfast this morning. Hope to see everyone again real soon.
We had a nice drive home, stopped in Kokomo & had lunch with Photo Mom, then went & helped her wash Zoey. A Great weekend!

We just got back into Wilmington .... we, uh, made a 'side trip' to the Four Winds Casino somewhere in Michigan .... LinSue comes home the winner ... I am the loser ... again :pat:

Meeting old friends at the Black Hawk Inn last night was really a highlight of my trip .... we sat outside and drank and ate and drank and ate until it was almost dark .... the weather was P-E-R-F-E-C-T .... warm, breezy, like the best summer night ever .... no bugs and no humidity .... all the things you learn to appreciate when you get them! The best thing? Seeing all of the Midwest Marauder's again .... it seems like a long time since Bobfest, but when I see your faces, it seems like yesterday - there are no friends like XLR friends .... funny, we all come from 'somewhere else'. Breakfast this morning at Denny's could have been any Sunday morning had we all lived close .... just so warm, friendly and comforting. I'm so glad I was able to come back this year .... hope I get to come back every year.

Thank you Cubby & Marion for dinner - that was so unexpected and so nice of you .... it was nice to remember everyone's birthday too ... the lemon pie was delish! (Not to bad when you're drinking a Lemon Drop with it ;)) So glad you all were there .... there's a few of you who didn't come that I wish I could have seen .... well - maybe next year :rocker:. I'll be glad to see any pictures that are posted too

Thanks to all of you for making me feel so welcome ...

Dittos from Bob and Paula. Sorry we missed you all at breakfast but we wanted to get an early start home to relieve the dog sitter. Traffic was light and made decent time. All well at home and then got a Sunday afternoon nap in. Bonus!

Thank you all for a wonderful time. Special thanks to Kevin, Marion, and Todd.

We're safely home - Coach got a scare from a Statey, but the same two semi's that blocked her view, blocked him from getting a clean read (and even at speed, she did signal the lane change!). Black Beauty is washed (and debugged for the second time in 36 hours) and ready for her next adventure.

Seriously, we had a great time and want to thank everyone involved, from the initial suggestion, to finding the hotels and restaurants - Kevin and Marion, your generosity at dinner will not be forgotten and we look forward to returning in kind - and a special award should go to the event committee member responsible for the weather. It was just an all-around perfect weekend and a fantastic start to another "XLR Summer".

Good friends, good times, can't wait to do it again.

You've all said it so well - it was a great weekend. Although we could meet anywhere, the Gilmore Museum was as spectacular as the weather. I'd recommend it to anyone.

And to our friends, old and new - thank you for the great weekend and the terrific memories. You couldn't hope for a better group of people. The generosity of everyone is overwhelming. THANK YOU to everyone!

I can't wait to see you all again. I'm glad everyone arrived home (even if it's a temporary home, RA!) safe and sound.

THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!!! :rocker::rocker::rocker:

Thank You

Wow. The comments about the trip are right on target! :rocker:
The many expressions of generosity, in all forms, made by this group are overwhelming. Thank you...:worship:

The weather was terrific and I had a great time seeing everyone. Wish I could have stayed longer. Ruth Ann & Lin Sue, sorry I missed you two.

Same here Whit ..... but I hear you are doubling your family soon .... that is so cool .... you'll have to do what we are doing and sell your house and buy a bigger one so everyone can come home .... expecially when they start bringing those grandbabes ..... THESE are going to be the best years of your life. Congratulations you have finally received the Pot o' gold! Tell CK to get ready for the ride of her life .... brides are .... well, let's just say they keep you very busy ;)

Pictures?

Here's a few...more later
