Steve & I have been very busy in our retirement.

A few weeks after the buisness sale we went to Florida for a month, then came back for Christmas with the family.

Two days after Christmas we flew to England to visit some friends for nearly 2 weeks. We did a fair bit of tourning including a couple of days in London: finally got to see Big Ben, a life long dream! Mark that one off the bucket list! We were supposed to be having a private tour of the Aston Martin plant when our trip had originally been scheduled for September (postponed due to the delay in the sale of our business) but sadly we could not get that rescheduled due to the Christmas New Years break schedule......very disappointed but there will be other trips......

Arrived home here on Monday and now we are leaving this Sunday for a week in Mexico with some other friends! We will be home for just shy of 2 weeks then back to Florida for 3 months! I will be flying home for a weekend at teh end of February to receive a lifetime acheivement award from our Chamber of Commerce, otherwise I will be spending those 3 winter months in Florida riding our motorcycles as much as possible as I wont have the XLR there.

Fun Night

Just got home from having dinner with Lola's Mom, Ray, Jet Boy and Isia at Harrod's AK Chin Casino in Maricopa, AZ. What a fun time. Really enjoyed being with my friends again, almost two years since I got to be with Ruthie and Ray in Colorado Springs.

Kathy would be so ashamed of me ..... I did not take my camera .... not even to Barrett-Jackson.... I used my IPhone to take a couple of pictures of a couple of cars and I took a small clip of some Corvettes doing a few hot laps ... that was it. And then I'm always sorry.

It WAS nice to see Robert, Kent & Isia again ... Kent went to BJ with us as well, he also came back out to Harrah's last night after work to just sit in the bar and BS one last night ....

With all of the great moments I had there, I also had one of my saddest - I wore my silver XLR medallion that Paula and Bob bought for me to show them - and somehow the cord must have broken and I lost it before dinner. I was (am) just heartsick. I have worn it almost everyday since BobFest - it was my favorite piece of jewelry (see, we don't need diamonds, just gifts given with love).... anyway I checked the lost and found everyday clear up until the hour we left and no one had turned it in. I just can't imagine of what value it would have to anyone else with my name on one side and XLR on the other. Anyway, I am ordering another one - it will not be the same - but it will be the same .... 'know what I mean???

Those Bondurant drivers in the Vette's made everyone else look lame. Decided not to take any of the test drives after seeing them.

Good to see Ruth and Ray again! We need to keep Orange county in mind. Should not be as overwhelming.

Marc and Cubby had a Girl Scout cookie war. My niece was selling cookies and she sent me an order form. Thanks to Kevin and Marc, and a few from some other people, I was able to sell 100 boxes of cookies for her. Thanks Marc and Cubby.

Well - here I sit .... in LinSue's living room in the countryside of Illinois, packing up and getting ready to head back to San Diego tomorrow. It's been such a pleasure being back among my XLR friends - who I no longer refer to as my XLR friends, but my friends who live in the MidWest. I want to thank every one of you who have been so welcoming .... made me feel welcome .... and believe me, I have treasured every minute I got to spend with each of you. Some of you I only got a chance to talk to via the telephone, but those visits were no less special. I mean it when I say you guys are the best ....

Cubby and Little Woman .... thank you for tonight - your club is beautiful, and you two are so generous with your time and friendship ....

It's always hard to leave and think that it will be another year before I come back .... Aww, heck .... I can't keep writing this ... it makes my heart hurt. Love you all ....

RA, it was great spending time with you as well. Thanks so much for making the trip over to MI while you were in IL. It is always fun seeing our friends, but having you & LinSue there was the icing on the cake. Hope to see you again soon...
