My XLR/V(s)
2006 Infared XLR-V
I am trying to get a window sticker reproduction for my 2006 XLR-V as I did not get the original when I bought it. I found someone that can recreate window stickers for the XLR, but they do not have an example of the XLR-V sticker so they can incorporate any differences. Would someone have an original for their car that they could copy / scan and send to me?
Thanks,
Steven

You can get a reproduction window sticker from the Corvette Museum. I was able to get the original build sheet from them. Give them a call. Give them your VIN number. It seems that the plant sent the build sheets to them after production.

Dave, I tried the Corvette museum last year and they told me that they didn't have enough information on my car to produce a window sticker. I just got a copy of the dealer invoice from the GM Media Archive and Triple A Enterprises can do the sticker if I can get them a copy of an original XLR-V sticker.

Steven,

Did you see this link on the site and check with them on your car?

That is where I got the idea. They provided me with a copy of the dealer invoice, but do not do the window sticker. They had a link to a company, Triple A Enterprises, that do the window sticker and they have the template for the XLR, but not the XLR-V. If I can find someone that still has a V sticker I can send them a copy of it along with the dealer invoice and they can make one to look like the original.

Steven,

I sent you a PM.

Just talked to Sharon at National Corvette Museum. (800-53VETTE) EX 157.
She said they can do window stickers for XLRs, but not Vs. She couldn't tell me why. They might have the original build sheet. If you give her you Vin number, see can look and see if they have it. I was told that since 2004, their car carrier, Allied, would take the build sheets off of the cars and send them to Allied main office. The main office would then send them to NCM.

I'm kind of curious why they can't do them for the XLR-Vs? XLRs and XLR-Vs were built on the same line. :dunno:

Sharon at NCM said maybe GM hasn't authorized release to reproduce window stickers for V's. Doesn't make sense to me to not produce both.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me either - especially considering that the car has been discontinued for a year now.

I just spoke to Sharon at NCM and she was able to find the build sheet on my XLR. She is sending me the build sheet and a Window Sticker reproduction.

Thanks for the information, Dave.

Mission accomplished. Thanks Kevin for putting me in contact with Bobo. He sent me a copy of his XLR-V window sticker which I forwarded along with the dealer invoice and ordered a sticker for my car. I found out last year that the Corvette Museum couldn't do "V" stickers. Don't know what the difference is, but now there is a way to get one for any of the V owners out there.

Glad it worked out for you. I'll probably end up doing the same, as I didn't receive the sticker on my '06 either.

I just called today on the build sheet & window sticker (I have my sticker but it's all messed up). The lady I spoke with said she'd check on the build sheet & call me back. Figured I wouldn't hear from her in a while, but she called back in 5 mins to let me know they had the original with the tape on it from being taped on the car. So amazing that they kept all that stuff & can actually find it - in 5 mins! Great service!

That's kinda odd about the V window sticker... the museum provided both the sticker and the build sheet for my '06 V in March of 2011. Didn't seem to be a problem then... she had to check my VIN to verify that she had it, but then proceeded to provide both a paper and laminated copy of each.
I keep the laminates in the trunk.

I had actually felt pretty lucky when I purchased my car. I looked in the leather info. Folder in the glovebox and there it was the original folded up. He had folded and left all the information cards and papers about everything. He had also signed the owners manual with address and left his AAA card that was still active. The funny thing he also left all his CDs in the player" really said ALOT about him". I sent all the CDs and the AAA back tot him since I had his address never a response though?

I just received my order from NCM. Reproduced window sticker and what appears to be the original build list, complete with tape and hand markings. It took about 3 weeks to get.

Just got mine today too - build sheet is complete with original grease stains. :)

Window sticker copy came with a "VIN decoder". Most interesting was finding out the last 4 digits are the number your car was out of the total produced for your year. Very cool!

Yes! BTW the VIN serial numbers do not separate XLR and XLR-V. Sure wish I could figure out all of the build codes like VZ3 Mercury.....

FTR the XLR silhouette faces left on the build sheet :-)

Another interesting factoid. The shipping weight is listed as 866 on the front and 854 on the back, just about as close to 50/50 as one can get. Of course that would change a little with a driver and fuel.
