With the 10th anniversary of 9/11 upon us there will be many well made and meaningful documentries produced and aired on TV in the coming weeks. The Discovery Channel, Dreamworks and KPITV will air a two year project entitled "Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero" it will be a six part documentry starting tonight at 8pm on the Discovery Channel. The first five one hour segments will air from 8/25/11 - 8/1/11. On 8/1/11 the sixth one hour segment will air which will be a "Memorial" episode. My Wife and I have the honor of being featured in this segment, and will be discussing our youngest Daughter Eileen Flecha and her fiance Ivan R. Perez. They both worked on the 94th and 95th floors of Tower Two for Fiduciary Trust International/Franklin Templeton and were both lost on 9/11. We were greatly honored that Steven Spielberg and the Discovery Channel production team wanted their story told.

I don't know what to say here but I do feel compelled to say something. I am new to this forum and we are all here due to the love of our XLR’s but we all have life stories that includes triumphs and tragedies.

What you have been through XFireXLR is something all parents pray they never have happen but when your loved one is taken from you through someone else's actions and 'on the world’s stage' then I can not imagine what you have been through.

I remember that day vividly. I don’t feel I really need to relate our disbelief of the days events; I think that everyone not personally connected all had the same feelings. I do however want to say that I remember feeling my heart breaking for the families of all of those who’s lives were ‘taken’ that day.

Please know in your hearts that that day will never be forgotten and that our thoughts and prayers are with you now as they were 10 years ago.

I saw two of the episodes last night. Very well done and moving. I wish I could be there at the unveiling in September but I'll probably wait until the museum is open. I know that it will bring me to tears....again

I would like to thank everyone for thier kind words, they are greatly appreciated. Unfortunately due to Hurricane Irene, we were unable to watch last nights episodes. Central Virginia and more so Richmond was hit extremely hard, we got power and telephone services restored 2 days ago, but cable service has yet to be restored. With some luck, we might be able to see the re-broadcast on Saturday, if not the entire six part series will air again on 9/11/11 on the Discovery Channel and the Science Channel.

I watched a couple of hours of it last night ... what a wonderful tribute to those who lost their lives almost 10 years ago. I especially enjoyed the story of the "surviving tree" and how it is representing new life ... life goes on, but never, ever forgotten (as the scars on the tree act as a reminder of what this tree - and all of us, as a nation, went through). The memorial looks amazing! I can't wait to visit it.

It had to take great courage for you to re-live the nightmare of that day - but I imagine you re-live it over and over and over.

I had sent a FedEx envelope to be delivered to one of the banks at the towers ..... about 3 weeks later I got it returned .... it said, "Undeliverable. No such address" and was dated Sept. 11.

Yes, thankfully there are people who honor that day .... Stephen Spielberg is the BEST of the best.

I am so sad with you.
