Inauguration Day

Ugh....what did I walk into in this thread? :ugh:

Like it or not, here's my opinion: :chuckle

I could care less about the color of someone's skin. In my opinion, the Bush Administration was one of the worst in this country's history. Proof? When Presidents and Leaders from other countries call up on the night of a national election, and state that they are excited about working with a new president and a more open America....that speaks volumes.

I've heard people state that Obama is going to throw this country into Socialism, or Nationalism, or whatever the heck they call it....they complain that the government is going to take control of everything...etc....etc.

Guess what? The government already has more control than the citizens of this country realize. The problem is that they don't have control over the industries that they should have SOME control over.

Proof of that can be seen in all of these pieces of wall street **** that have stolen hundreds of thousands, to millions of dollars from investors...and then they take off because they don't have the balls to show their face.

So rather than criticize someone for their skin color, I prefer to listen to the man speak, determine whether or not I agree with what he says, and then decide whether or not I feel he is capable of following through with his words and initiating that which he says he is going to do.

Actions speak louder than words, and now he should be judged on his actions. If his actions match the words he spoke during his campaign, then he is worthy of credit and respect. Given that he's only been in office for 72 hours now...so far, I haven't seen any reason to be disappointed.

Rob,

I agree with Cadillac Tech...'well said.' :patriot::patriot:

Just a few statements of facts that have been kept from the public. The London Times has reported that the American news agencies have not reported that the war in Iraq ended quite some time ago. The news media is controlled by the Democrats and they did not want to report this news until the new President took office. Another fact, all of our economic problems started when Clinton deregulated the banks, insurance companies and so on and then insisted requirements to obtain a mortgage be lowered so everyone could own their own home. People were able to obtain a mortgage knowing they could never keep up the payments. Put the blame where it really should be. Like Standby, I also am a child born as the Great Depression was winding down. Then World War II came along and times were very hard but our nation dug their heels in and we won the war, our industries were strong, the men went off to war, the women went into the factories. When the guys came home and went to work the women didn't go back to being full time home makers, they stayed on working, greed sat in, the young people wanted everything RIGHT NOW, instead of working and saving to buy what they wanted. Credit went wild, people over extended their budgets, children were negelected, (mothers not home) young people packed up the kids and moved to distant places. Children did not have the influence of grandparents and aunts and uncles. No more nuclear family. Kids left at home alone started getting in trouble, both parents working used the weekends to catch up on chores, forgot to or felt they couldn't afford the time to go to church. The unions wanted more and more, our industries started moving out of the country to where they could get cheaper wages. Don't think for one minute that the new president is going to be able to deliver on his promises, he is only one person just like Bush was only one person. Things can get much worse before they start to get better. I guess I need to step down off my box but just for now. First Robin

I would never delete a post, especially to appease someone. This is still a free country with free speech and Ruthie you are entitled to that. We all just have different opinions.
I would rather be thrown off every forum than let someone think for me.

You might be pretty surprised at what I am thinking about

I applaud every word of this true American. No one has even come close to nailing the facts then he has.
I might even vote for First Robin in four years.
My God man, that was better than O's speech at the inauguration.

"This is still a free country with free speech."

Standby's last message above

I tried to reply but for some reason I kept getting a message I was short two characaters for it to post. Oh well, here is my message: Thanks Bobo, I will indeed take you up on dinner and a bottle of wine when we meet up in San Antonio. I also want to thank you if you vote for me in 2012 as that will give me at least two votes, yours and mine. Maybe you could come and be my Secretary of State.:chuckle:chuckle First Robin

That happens when you haven't started your post at the very top of the page. Hmmmm? Oh, I'd love to replace Hillery as S of S.
