:wave:owner 2005 XLR since april 2016. Enjoying my ride . Do have a couple of questions though. It seems car runs rather hot when in traffic temp little over 220. Other question there is rectangular attachment to windshield just to right of rear view mirror. have not figured out what it is.

Welcome to the forum! Great experienced XLR brains and awesome people here on the forum! I think the box is mainly the Rainsense for wipers, but maybe some other things in there. As for over heating, make sure your electric fans is operating, also check the thermostat is working, I'm sure there is others here with more suggestions, just things that come to mind. Enjoy the Topless Cruz'in

I've experienced the same with my 2005 XLR, it runs hot (220) when in traffic and immediately cools off as soon as you begin moving again. I ran it in my garage this summer with it lifted in the air so I could watch the fan come on and turn off while monitoring the temperature with a scan tool. If I remember correctly the fan came on slowly at about 215 degrees.

Thanks Steve.

I did verify that fan was operating. I also saw that once moving at highway speed Temp came down to more acceptable limits. Still trying to figure out what the item is that is attached to windshield:lol:.

Have a blessed day

The long black rectangular box on the windshield to the right of the rear view mirror is the OnStar and Navigation antenna. The rainsense module is below the rear view mirror.

Thanks Cubby:thumbsup,

I appreciate response to my inquiry. Now i can sleep better:). Have had other issues with my ride, but nothing that is going to prevent me from enjoying my top down crusin:wave:.
