Caravans to NCH

Will be meeting Jack WB6BBZ in Little Rock near I-40 Wednesday afternoon/evening, leaving Thursday morning for Bowling Green if there is anyone else coming that way.

Well... made it to Sioux City, IA. Tomorrow on to Bourbannais (sp?) to meet up with Cubby & Supa. There will be a PARTY tomorrow evening in Bourbannais!!!!!

Bob and Giz:
I am wanting to make sure about times and meeting in Mt Vernon. One post states probable meet at 10 or 11 am and one says 1:30. I didn't see a response to 1:30 and am unsure if this is two different groups. My girlfriend works til 7 am thursday and that would make 10 or 11 out of our plans. Mapquest says 7 hours which makes 1:30 possible. Barely, but I usually beat mapquest times. I don't want anyone waiting for me thought-I will take the southern route if that is the case. Please let me know what the latest trip itinerary is. Thanks alot for the invite either way. Mike

If we are going to make the reception at 4pm, that backs up departure from Mt Vernon, IL at 1130. This allows for 1 hr in BG to check in, change and get to the reception. This also means leaving Mattoon at 10 at the latest, better would be 0930. I have a call into Giz and Chicago Dave.

Bob

Yeah .... you guys .... you know how much tougher THAT is??? Well, I AM a spirit in THAT car .... I am so jealous my teeth hurt :pat:  At least I don't have to worry that someone is keeping the wine bottles empty. Have fun, dang it.

Your teeth just hurt 'cuz you went to the dentist!!! We will miss you so much, Ruthie, but will try to not let it get us down!:blinzel:

Looks like Devin and I will be heading down to Bowling Green on our own (due to no power at home, it didn't seem right to bug out of town at 5:30 am to try and meet up with Bob and Gizmo on Thursday). We will be heading out of the Chicago area around 8am or so on Thursday, heading down to KY via Indianapolis. Anyone else heading out of Indy on Thursday, noonish?

Well looks like Dave is heading out on his own. Just talked to Bob, the reception is not till 6PM so we need to meet in Mt Vernon around noon.

The XLR Southern route appears a bit sparse so far. Left Orlando yesterday pm and stopped north of Atlanta. Currently just south of Calhoun, GA where I-75 and GA 53 cross. Any other adventurers welcome to hook up.
Had an Orange Vette join me for awhile but he couldn't keep up. Just quit, pulled off, and went home......so sad

Steve

Dave, do you have power back on at home yet?

Dave, do you have power back on at home yet?

Power not expected on until Friday afternoon (lost it Monday morning)...

Looks like Jared (youngest son) is going to get a lesson on Starting/Refueling the generator for mom... since I'm bringing Devin with me tomorrow morning to Bowling Green. :dunno: What can we do, huh? Acts of GOD.

I definitely need to get away.

Devin and I are going to take the Indianapolis route tomorrow morning. Leaving by 8am, hopefully.

I think Julie C is leaving for BG on Thursday, maybe she would like to follow you.

We'd love the company ... She has the 2009 Red Platinum, right? Can you provide me her contact info (or you can give her mine). Thanks Bruce. :rocker:

Photo Girl, CornDog & Tiffany's Dad joined up north of Columbus, IN and are rolling south to BG with MTRocket, Quinn & MadMac about 45 minutes behind.

I arrived in BG within the last hour or so. I have seen only 5 Vettes so far but mine is the lone XLR. Glad to hear reinforcements are speedily on their way.

Oh ya Beer is in the fridge,,,,

Steve

Jack wb6bbz & Diane & I made it to Little Rock. Will see everyone tomorrow afternoon.

All 6 are running together since E-town, KY.:)

Did you arrive on Wednesday or planning for Thursday? I expect to be in E-Town around 2 Eastern Time.

After checking with others there, I have changed my route and am planning on taking backroads (KY187,70 and 185) after taking the Western KY parkway to Leitchfield. If you are in front of me give me a call and let me know how things are on I-65. I may not hear the phone, but please leave a message.

See everyone tomorrow.

Got here today... Wednesday. I-65 had several places of construction - no major delays going south, but the north side was horrible, about 5 miles of stopped traffic.

Thanks for the info. Decisions, decisions. The 30 miles of backroads was sounding like fun.

Devin & I are heading down I65 (Devin is driving, I'm websurfing)... we stopped at a rest area to switch, Devin noticed a red XLR there too. We are carving with him (he is from the xlr chapter of the Cadillac Lasalle Club, up by me). We will call Julie when we get close to Indy. Devin doing a fine job driving.
