I have never seen the ThunderBirds fly ....

We are home to Miramar Marine Base (Top Gun) - so the celebration of Fleet Week has always hosted the Angels .... I think I have had the pleasure of seeing them for the past 35+ years .... AWESOME. Since it is Fleet Week, that means that everything that can be available to view is here ... Down in the harbour a couple of weeks ago when Linsue was here, we were standing at the fence of Fort Rosecrans Cemetary which overlooks the Pacific Ocean - the background is North Island Naval Base home of the Pacific Fleet....... The USS Ronald Regan was moored off to the left of this view ..... a destroyer had just come in from a day of war games .... and then LinSue got this shot of a Sub being escorted in from her day out by a pair of tugs .... Awesome shot.

Cool. I like North Island (I traveled through there on the way to Hawaii a couple times). Great views, quiet serenity, ocean surf. Some military bases are better than others and that one is gorgeous.

I know ... right up there with Pearl Harbor .... :rocker:

I was homeported there on the carrier USS Constellation from 72 to 75. Those were some great times in San Diego and Coronado. I still regret not buying a lot on Coronado Island for $20,000 back then :bash:

Haha ... you could probably just add an extra couple of zeros on to that now ...!

You would not believe the changes in the last 30 years to NI ... Coronado has not changed hardly at all - thank goodness.
The sub bases are just below where we were standing on the cliff there at Point Loma -

Here is another picture LinSue took of a destroyer coming in just minutes before the sub ... you can see clear to Mexico!

Bring back any memoreis???

lots of memories sitting up on Point Loma late at night. But always saw double of everything those days if you get what I mean. O the good old days.

I love it when we drive through the neighborhoods at night and look at all of the "Halloween Lights" ..... it's taken on a life of it's own ... the grandboy says "it scares me!" .... and then he laughs ... I love Halloween!

I just had the most fantastic meal I've EVER HAD in a restaurant. Seems the two chefs at this place are having a contest over the next 2 months to see who is the better chef (voted on by the patrons). Anyway, I had Mediterranean Stuffed Pork Loin... Pork Loin wrapped in Applewood Smoked Bacon, stuffed with tiny pieces of broccoli and sun dried tomatoes, then finished with a Huckleberry wine sauce. Absolutely amazing!!!!!! Was going to lick my plate clean, but Cindy wouldn't let me...

Wow, does that sound good you needed a roll with butter to clean that plate up right. We should all go on a Mystery Meal to MT and eat at this place.

Just wondering does anyone know what a Mystery meal Cruise is?????

The longest one I have been on was from to Tucson to Carson City. Went with 17 Corvettes wow was that sweet. ;):willy_nilly::rocker:

Illinois Trip

Arrived home yesterday at 4:05 P.M. from my Illinois trip. Added 2,315.5 miles on my DTS. It truly is the best Road Car on the market. Now to get it washed as the front end and side mirrors are black from bugs instead of Silver. Illinois weather truly sucks, had to see a doctor in Peoria as I had one of my worst allergy attacks in my entire life. Arrived in Washington, Ill. on Friday night and by the end of the day Saturday I was in bad shape. Now that I am home in God's country maybe it will all clear up. Last night was the last of my Z Pack. Over all it was a great trip. Had a wonderful visit with my aunt that will be 90 the 12 of this month, she is the only aunt I have left. Will pick up Digby from the Doggie Spa this morning and then life can get back to normal.

Yea, my 600 hp Cobra would love to begin the day eating a has-been C5 for breakfast.

You are indeed delusional, probably the result of staying up late watching your favorite "newsman" Bill Maher.

Only problem with everyone coming up for this meal is the chefs are creating new entrees on a weekly basis. I'm thinking Cindy & I will be making a weekly trip to eat at "Bull Mountain Grille"...
And no, I've never heard of a mystery meal cruise... tell me more!!! Sounds like fun!!
