XLR Gathering in Colorado 2010

Would it be a good idea to start 'some sort' of an itenery --- who is doing what which day so that if we'd like to join in we could??

Since Rod & Cindy are coming in late in the week would a good day for a "train ride" to Pike's Peak be maybe Friday?

And, since no one knows just when they're getting in on Sunday - would a Meet and Greet Dinner be good on Monday night?

Any input from anyone on this?

Of course, I'd like to hit the casino one night with whoever else wants to go - most every casino has a pretty good buffet ....

Your thoughts?

Cheyenne Mtn. Resort has resturants and bars open to the public if those arriving on Sunday want to get together on Sunday. I think it is a good idea to start posting when and what is going to happen. If there are a good number that want to go to Salida to the winery then I would be happy to phone and give them a heads up as to how many will be there and also phone the newspaper and police to see if we could park for a while down by Riverside park for pictures and a writeup in the local paper. The little town loves when fancy cars come to town.

That is just awesome. If I decide to purchase a windrestrictor could I use this design?

That would be fine with me! - I can simplify the design for WR if they need me to.

If you want to get in early Sunday you can let me lead from Albuquerque :laugh::laugh:

IMO Monday probably would be better for a meet and greet. Everyone is sure what time they are getting in on Sunday not to mention if anyone runs into construction or problems no need to stress anyone out. My .02.

It looks great! Not bad for a Sconnie :lol::lol:

Yeah? "Almost like a 'real guy' did it!" ??? Thanks!

------ I'd rather be a Sconnie than a Coastie.
(no offense, Ruth Ann) - it's a U.W. thing...

http://sconnie.com/

You GOTTA love a website that sells tshirts AND has tab on their home page that links to a list of all the local bars' drink special nights! THAT's truly Sconnie!

(if you look, I apologize for the the shirts that have the outlines of other states labeled "worst state ever". But, a lot of Sconnie folks do have a bit of prejudice towards FIBS and others... Not me - I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Didn't mean to hijack - maybe our moderator can set up a new corner of the site just for us Sconnies. :chuckle

Bruce, That is a really beautiful scene. Now I know I'll be coming up to join you folks in Colorado Spring next month cause I've just got to add one of those to my collection.
I'll be coming up Wednesday or Thursday so I'll need a schedule of where you'll be.

Jack, that's great news. We're looking forward to meeting you. Do you collect dash plaques? I enjoy collecting them.

Guess I am now Bruce, although this will only be my second one for the XLR.
The first one was from the June 2008 RIII at Bowling Green, KY.

I had several on my 1953 and 1954 MG TF-1500s back in the early '60's but left them with the cars when I sold them.

And I'll also be looking forward to meeting you Jetboy and the rest of the folks that will be there.

I'll be traveling alone on this one as my current Lady Friend can not take time off work (ugh!, I hate that 4 letter word!).

I will probably head over to eRacing Motorsports in Aptos, CA. after the gathering to show them how I installed two of their eSuperchargers in my XLR and see if they'll put it on their dyno and run performance plots for me.

See ya Later, Jack

Glad to here you will be joining us, Jack. Post and let us know where you will be staying so we can keep track of you.:lol: It will be great seeing your modification to the Northstar!!

We are pretty open to whatever there is to do in the area. Would like to go to Salida, though... sounds like a nice drive.

We have many things in mind to see and do, but we will decide when to do them once we get there. We will probably wait till Thursday to visit Pike's Peak. I'm sure a lot will depend on the weather. I know Kathy would like to visit The Garden of the Gods @ daybreak for some great pictures. Everyone should post what they want to see and do.:)

I'm heading out early to visit Yellowstone. I've never been there and we're a short (?) 8 hour drive away from Colorado Springs. My boss actually wants me to take 2 weeks off to see everything, including the Badlands, Devil's Tower, Sturgis and Mt Rushmore. of course I won't get paid for most of it.... maybe he's trying to tell me something...

I'm really looking forward to the trip!!!!!!

Good for you, that will be a fantastic trip for you. While at Mr. Rushmore be sure and see Chief Crazy Horse, it is breath taking, we saw it while it was under construction.

Isn't it still under construction?
:laugh::laugh::laugh:

It was under construction when I first visited in 1966 and is still under construction now. At least you can make out what it is now. Save some extra time just to drive some of the great roads in the Black Hills area.
