XLR Gathering in Colorado 2010

I made an on line request for information to be mailed out from the CS tourist board and hope that it will be here shortly. One thing I looked at on line was Pikes Peak. Not sure if I want to drive up there ( portions are gravel) but there is a train that goes there.

We were thinking the same thing...we would take the train also.

I hope everyone is doing some research. I believe it is only 8 weeks away. We need to start putting suggestions out so we can make an attempt to try and get an itinerary going.

I doubt anyone will be ready to drive very far on Monday after just getting off a long road trip. Monday might be a good day for things to do and see in Colorado Springs. There is Pikes Peak, The Garden of the Gods, Kemp Sculptures, Broadmoor Hotel, Shopping, Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs plus many more.

You could post some of the other things that were mentioned last year and see how many people want to attend and then start a schedule for which days to go to places and how many want to go and start sorting out if some people want to go to two or more and find out which days will work best for the most to attend together.

Just a suggestion that I thought might help get things started. Whatever you decide to do I know you will have fun because that is what Colorado and XLR's is all about.

When you decide when, where & what you are going to do and make a list I can forward it to Red Noland Cadillac and they will send it to all of the XLR customers in this area. Some may want to join in on some of the drives.

Sorry gang for the delay of this reply but my DSL provider had to replace my modem because the old one was out-of-date for their new software and they tell me that my computer should also be replaced because it's running Windows XP SP3 and can not be upgraded to Windows 7!
Which means I have to buy another computer! I have over 15 working computers but none of them are Windows 7 compatable!
It's no wonder that Bill Gates is so rich, talk about built in obsoleteness, he sure has the auto industry beat!
Come on 12/21/2012 and put us out of our misery!
Sorry but I won't be able to make the CO. Springs get together because I have another trip on that same weekend to Las Vegas with a neighbor for a Bowling Tourment.
I might drive up Wednesday or Thursday though, depending on my finances after spending the weekend in Lost Wages!

You've posted as this event next month, but it is actually in May.

Would it be a good idea to start 'some sort' of an itenery --- who is doing what which day so that if we'd like to join in we could??

Since Rod & Cindy are coming in late in the week would a good day for a "train ride" to Pike's Peak be maybe Friday?

And, since no one knows just when they're getting in on Sunday - would a Meet and Greet Dinner be good on Monday night?

Any input from anyone on this?

Of course, I'd like to hit the casino one night with whoever else wants to go - most every casino has a pretty good buffet ....
