San Antonio, Texas "Blue Bunny" Rally May 20--May 23, 2009

Well - it's time to get this thread moving again, Now that the holidays are almost behind us.

The time will fly now that we will be able to make some definite plans ....

Personally, I am so glad that we have a nice long road trip to look forward to .... and then when we get there we have such a great friends to :party with!

I have been looking at San Antonio websites.... so much to choose to do!

Ruth Ann,
Have you found any "must visits" while we are in San Antonio?

Everyone make sure they've made their hotel reservations!

Kathy

The only "must visit" for me is to visit with all of you. :grouphug:

Meanwhile, yeah ... The Alamo is on the top of my list .... silly me, :silly: I just love history and cowboys! I'd also like to take a ride out through the desert with the cars .... oh, and The Hacienda .... like I said, gotta try those "puffy tacos" .... and the night cruise on the river .... hey, I'm easy .... whatever anyone wants to do, we're there with you .... :blue:

I was just wondering if there were any Casino's close by?;)

Speedway

Your in Indian country, of course there are casinos close by. Most states are inventing Indian tribes just so they can open a casino.
Even though I have reservations, I'm not sure that I want to drive alone again. My daughter may be flaking on me................AGAIN! We will see as we get closer. It's four and one half months from now. Not much to see at the Alamo, just some adobe walls and rooms with signs that say thing's like Jim Bowie slept here. etc.
Oh, they have bathrooms now.

Standby,

Hope she doesn't bail on you--it wouldn't be the same without you. Could be one of our last great parties if the economy doesn't get better.

Maybe you can get a waitress to come with you if J backs out on you.:laugh::laugh: Sorry couldn't resist.

Ray and I will plan to stop at every Waffle House on the way to look for a waitress to tag along with you Bob.

Uh-oh, I think you just lost Bob .... he's a Cracker Barrel fan!

Not to worry Bobby .....Jaime is a young woman, who will change her mind a million times in the next 4 months .... that's what we do (unfortunately for you guys, we actually do it all of our lives):willy_nilly:

I looked online for a close by Indian casino ... I could only find one about 2 hours from San Antonio ... Anyone else know of another one? That would have been fun.

I do Waffle houses & WH waitresses too. A waitress is a waitress...........right?

I just made our reservations @ the Hampton Inn-Downtown San Antonio. Thanks to Cubby we get a special rate and special parking. The phone # 210-225-8500 or www.sanantoniodowntown.hamptoninn.com. Mention the XLR group when calling or type in XLR for the Group/Convention Code if making reservations online.

We will be arriving on Thursday May 21 and checking out on Sunday May 24.

Bruce

IndyXLRVGuy just sent me an email that he made his reservations @ the Hampton Inn. We should have a great caravan to SA.

Only 17 more weeks and we'll be in San Antonio!

I've located a restaurant on the River Walk that serves 46 oz. Margaritas; in case anyone gets thirsty! It's the Republic of Texas Restaurant.
And there is another one (not on the River Walk) that serves lunch only that is called Cadillac Bar & Restaurant Steakhouse. Maybe we should stop by.

We're up for both places--margaritas are Marion's second favorite drink:lol::lol: Check and see if they have 46 oz. beers also!!! Maybe the Cadillac Bar & Restaurant will feed us if we bring all the Cadillacs to them:laugh::laugh:

Hey .... we'll go too !

My gosh - that is like a Slurpee Cup-size Margarita .... One of those ought to do it! That's more than a whole bottle of wine!

Mostly, I'm just so ready to hit the road - I think I am part "bum" ..... instead of ridin' the rails, I love cruising in Lola. :D

West coast caravan, what is the itinerary look like? I made my job change and it appears that we will probably be able to make the trip. Is the plan for you guys to make Las Cruces the first night stop? If so, we could meet you there and caravan the rest of the way. What night are you planning to be in Las Cruces, so we can make hotel plans?

JetBoy is my leader .... you guys tell me what, when and where ... we'll agree ..... :blinzel:

Hooray!!! Both of the X's coming?????
We missed you at BBB.

:wave:We missed you too!!!!! It's not for sure that we would be going, but there's a better chance then before, just keep your fingers crossed, I know I am!:blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue:

I sure would like to know how to make the "BLUE" thingys bounce at different times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's great news, I will keep my fingers crossed. Like Ruthie says, I think Kent will probably let us know what motel in Las Cruses. For sure Jaimie will be coming with me, so everyone watch out when she is behind the wheel, she loves to go fast. We are going to have to get kitty sitters for all three cats.

Great news Jim :blinzel::blinzel::blinzel:

The plan is still Las Cruces on the 19th. I was holding out on the motel there hoping you and Jean might be able to at least meet us. Do you have a recommendation for hotel and eatery in Las Cruces?

Maybe we can get FirstRobin to shoot down I-25 and meet us as well :dunno:

Speedway,

Where is going to be a good meet point in Tucson? I can meet the California crew at the intersection of I-8 and I-10.
